Hello mattsmumsue and welcome to the weight loss forum π You have made the right decision joining this forum.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you π
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news π
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for π
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate π
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page π
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask π
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too π
Best wishes
Anna
Hello mattsmumsue You will find everyone here on the forum very friendly and motivational - they have certainly helped me! You sound as if you have lots on your plate and I can empathise with that! Taking care of yourself is very very important and I hope you are aiming to do that. Good luck on your journey βΊ
Hi there mattsmumsue and welcome to the site well done for being a carer to your son. I have a lot of respect for you, I have uncontrolled Epilepsy too. You will definitely get motivation here as I have never managed to stick to any diets until I found this one which I have been doing since November and I have lost nearly 2st. A mistake I made at the beginning was not eating enough calories. I always thought I should eat less calories to help me lose weight but when I wasn't losing weight someone on here said to me if you are not enough you won't lose anything, as your body thinks you are starving it so it will turn what you do eat into body fat. Body fat weighs more than calories so you will put weight on. When I started eating within my bmi index I started losing weight. I can't believe it, I am eating more and losing weight. Who would have thought it.
Many thanks love caring for Matt but need some me time as well hopefully I will be fitter as well xx
