Morning lucylockit

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Welcome lucylockit. I absolutely know where you're coming from. I've yo yo dieted for so many years I can't remember. It would really get me down. Time after time WW then SW. But I've got to say since joining this forum and following the 12 week plan I feel great! I've lost 8lb in 4 weeks I've never lost that much in that time before. Plus each week I print of the latest week of the plan, read the great article (different article each week) log onto the forum each day usually when hubby is watching TV. Get lots of ideas and inspiration. I really do feel like I'm making life changes not just yo yo dieting. Good luck 😉

Hi lucylockit hope all goes well with your weightloss. I see this as a life change for me and not a diet, which I didn't to start with. Please don't be afraid to ask any questions here as there will always be someone here who should have an answer for you. Also make sure you do check your bmi on the NHS site and make sure you do have as many calories as it tells you and personally I would have somewhere nearer the top amount of calories it gives you because this will give you room to move around less if you need it closer to the end of your diet. All the best.

Hi Lucylokit,

I am a Type 2 diabetic and have had a lot of success with improving my blood sugar results using the Low Carb High Fat diet, dropping my HBA1C result from the mid-40s to the mid-30s. I never feel hungry, eat plenty of fresh veg, meat and full-fat dairy, but no potatoes, pasta, rice or bread.

If you want to check this out try dietdoctor.com. Dr David Cavan's "Reverse Your Diabetes" book can be useful as is Dr Michael Mosely's "Blood Sugar Diet". Best wishes with your journey.
