Hello everyone, I'm new here, I'm 32 and overweight. I love eating, I comfort eat and eat when I'm bored. All habits I need to get out of. I found this site and thought I'd join for motivation and encouragement. I'd like to lose 2-3 stone and as quickly as possible (but healthily) i don't get much time to excerise as I work full time then when I'm not working I'm looking after my daughter. I want to post my weight los progress each week as I hope this will stop me cheating! All support welcome and I'll happily return the favour.

Hello Missvdub and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺ You sound like I was 18 months ago, but you are right that a lot of our eating is habit based and that can be changed, it takes as little as 3 weeks to create new habits ☺ but first let me welcome you to the forum ☺

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Hiya, I'm 33, have 3 kids and work full time. I'm about 4 stone overweight and am ready to lose it all now. I'm sticking to calorie counting and exercise. I've only started today so hopefully in the next few weeks I'll start feeling a lot better about myself. I feel so horrible about myself at the moment, it's depressing!

I find this forum very helpful.

Good luck x.

I know what you mean it's not nice feeling down about yourself, I get like that then end up eating 🙈 hopefully we can all help each other out

Exercise will give you a reason not to eat because you're bored so go on YouTube and see the Leslie Sansone walking videos for after you've got the little one to bed. You can do a mile-long walk in your own living room in as little as 15 minutes and you probably won't feel like eating after that!

Not what you're looking for?
