I seem to be stuck at 115kg 18:00st. I have been here for a month now and can't move on. I am watching my calorie intake and I have been exercising. Doing about 45 miles walk or 90000 steps per week. Last Sunday I did a non-stop 19 miler but it did little for my weight loss. Any pointers anybody? SE

Hi! Is your calorie intake right for your needs? What happens if you eat a bit less or a bit more? You need something to wake your body up. What about trying 5:2 or that thing where you only eat during certain hours? Good luck 🤞

Maybe it's time to have a look at what you're eating, rather than how much you're eating, SE? Try reducing your carbs, particularly simple carbs and sugar and the time of day that you eat them.

Your body is used to all the walking that you do, so a shake-uo on the exercise front, may be in order too. Try some HIIT, weights, other strength exercises, circuits.

Have a look at this, too

I hope this helps :)

Another super informative post. I'm regularly impressed at the information that's out there and the research that's gone into it.

You do need to make sure you are eating the right amount of calories. Most of my life I never ate much during a day because I never had a big appetite and I never ate breakfast because I didn't like eating first thing so just ate a sandwich for my lunch and ate my dinner, very rarely ate much else but was always fatter than most family members and my husband who always ate more than me. It always wound me up but I always felt I still must be eating too much for myself. Whenever I went on diets I always ate even less. When I started here someone told me to make sure I ate enough calories that the bmi calculator tells you to because if you don't eat enough calories your body thinks you are trying to starve it and it will turn what you do eat into fat so it nows it can survive for further days which actually weighs more than just normal calories will. I found this strange to start with, but decided to give it a go as nothing else had ever worked for me other can cutting out sugars and using sweeteners instead and I finally started to lose weight. Now I eat more and am finally starting to lose weight. I can't believe it.

Thanks for your candid reply. I think I will pay more attention to what I eat, when I eat, and the amount I eat. It's about balancing the equation of needs over time. A little tweaking here and there and hopefully I am on the right track again. I have never lost sight of my need for weight reduction but sometimes the results do not seem to match the efforts.
