Weight hasn't budged for two weeks. Riding through the plateau.

I've lost 13 and 1/2 pounds now, since mid-august. I was loosing every week but for the past two weeks it hasn't budged. I haven't got much to loose. My BMI is currently 26.2. I was hoping get down to about 9stone 10lbs so a BMI of 23.3

I'm getting married in May and want to walk down the aisle in a size 12 dress. I have already dropped from a 16 to a 14 so everything is going ok(ish). I have just moved house (stressful) and started on the pill perhaps these have affected my weight.

It's just really annoying. I caved in and had a takeaway curry tonight but I will be back on track tomorrow.

How do other people cope with their plateau's?

I have to admit I'm a bit confused by the link. I'm a vegan so I don't eat a lot of processed food. I'm pretty well read up on nutrition. I think I might just wait it out for a bit and see if it's hormones. Plus I've just bought a pedometre and will up my exercise to see if that helps.

The pill can cause bloating or fluid retention which would affect your weight, so you are right to think it might be hormonal. Try and avoid bread and pasta for a while as these high carb foods can encourage fluid retention, and see if that makes any difference.

It is never easy losing those final few pounds when you are so near your target weight. I do wish you the best of luck with your efforts.

If for any reason you have to settle for a size 14 dress - it won't be the end of the world.... and might even give you a more attractive (and curvy) neck and shoulder!

Everyone complains it's tough the last few pounds and yet I've found it easy?,

My own experience is that I can maintain at around 12st 7lbs, but struggle to lose that final stone as I feel comfortable in the mid 12's - my clothes fit and having lost 3 stone, I feel "slim". However, the mirror tells a different story...I know I should not be above 11st 7lbs which is the top end of my correct BMI, and I still have too much weight around my middle, but struggle to convince my inner body image that I have to keep going!

Hello, just be careful of the pill and stuff, these things can affect weight and other stuff.

Plateau been there 3 times, over many years, the secret is to overeat by say 200 cals a day for 2 days, then go back to your normal weight loss amount.

Also change your excercise routine, your body almost gets 'stuck' , and therefore sees this as the new normal, then you start to lose again.

Be aware that we all seem to have a natural weight, depending on your build and height, you mat be near that?

Not what you're looking for?
