Thanks blackbeauty99 - sorry to hear that you're feeling cold - I think I got the best of the weather this morning, as it's been raining a bit this afternoon. So glad I went out when I did.
Hope you are able to warm up and that you have a good afternoon and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Wow! That's a great incentive to get out and walking! Whereabouts are you that you have such a stunning coast line?
I have done 80 minutes of stretches and Pilates. Salmon fillet and ratatouille for dinner tonight. Greek yoghurt, berries and toasted flaked almonds for brunch.
Yes, it is an incentive for sure - I am in Guernsey - a beautiful island and lots of lovely cliff-paths to enjoy.
Wow, you've done briliantly doing those stretches and Pilates.
I love the sound of your meals too - you're having some delicious food today.
I had a bean and lentil chilli with some rice and guacamole and sour cream on the side for lunch, and I'm having Cajun chicken with a bean casserole for dinner tonight. Also a lovely banana split with some vanilla ice-cream and some flaked almonds (I also love nuts!).
Your meals all sound very healthy... and filling! If you are a bean lover - did you see my recipe for healthy baked beans cooked in the slow cooker? Posted about 2 weeks ago.... healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Wow that's beautiful Zest. Where was it taken? Sun is shining here to so I took the dog for an extra long walk today. Weigh in tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for my first week x
Hi SukiV - it is a view of Guernsey, and you can see the town of St. Peter Port in the distance on the horizon. There were lots of yachts and a fishing boat out today, lots to watch as we walked around.
Wishing you good luck for your first weigh-in tomorrow - and fingers crossed for your first week - I hope you enjoy it, and I wish you success and a lovely weekend in the meantime.
Lovely photo Zest. Guernsey looks stunning! Thanks for sharing it.
Glad you are feeling positive. I am too. Have just been for a walk along the river teaching my youngest daughter to ride her bike. Soon we will be cycling along the river path together - can't wait..
Lovely to hear from you! I am so glad to hear you're also feeling positive, it is definitely a great feeling. I do think that getting out and walking helps - as I often feel so much better when I return from a walk. Your walk along the river sounds great, and I can imagine your daughter really enjoyed her bike lesson. It will be fantastic for you both to cycle along the river path together - hopefully that won't be long.
I've just done Bob Harper's exercise DVD as well, so I think I'm very motivated today - I was however concerned to hear about Bob, as he suffered a severe heart attack a couple of weeks ago, but I am so glad he's recuperating. He has a beautiful dog called Karl, who I think is definitely helping him to rehabilitate - as they're enjoying gentle walks around the park I think. I was reading about his progress online, as I do really like him, and I was shocked to hear his news.
I like your cycle icon - really good!!! I can see a theme with the pics of your bikes in your profile too - you are a keen cyclist by the look of it. Really good! I only cycle at the gym on the bikes there, but I do enjoy it.
I think Bob is doing ok now. I am relieved that he is ok.
Think its in the air... The sun has been out all day here, after torrential rain all day yesterday! This prompted Ed to spend the day pressure washing and "spring cleaning" the garden, because for the first time this year, we really could have sat out with a cuppa in the bright fresh air after our long dog walk this morning
Perhaps it's 'Spring in the air' that is giving us some extra positivity - whatever it is, I hope to have more of it.
Hope you enjoyed your long dog walk this morning, and Ed has been super busy! I agree with you - a lovely cuppa in the bright fresh air would have been preferable, but I guess the garden is looking fantastic as a result of his efforts.
Zest
That is a lovely photo.glad you are feeling positive. I think having nice
weather really helps. This morning I did food shopping with my grandson. Then we went to his place to sort out his room and kitchen. He is moving back to his supported living. So getting him ready. Then I can relax and look after myself for a change. I am felling very tied and in a lot of pain. You look after yourself and enjoy the weekend.
Than you. My grandson has a few problems. Leaning difficulties with behaviour problems. I wouldn't be without him. I brought him up since born. He is also a loving lad he is 20 and needs his independence now. It is hard for both of us. He does not want to be with his old nan all the time ( he doesn't agree with me) it is a new chapter for us, both. Thank you for all your support.
New chapters can be good, and hopefully you'll both adjust to the changes, and you can continue to enjoy one another's company - but you'll each be able to enjoy your own space too, and achieve a good balance. I really hope it goes well and wishing you both the very best with it.
Hi Caroline 62. Good evening. Hope you're well today. I have a adopted son with learning disabilities and epilepsy. He is loving the freedom. New apartment (2 bedroom flat) with 24hr support. I saw him on Friday out doors for a walk with the group. He works in a shop with the team. Says he has a office? I'm going to visit him on Monday for all his stories. Happy young man.☺
My grandson has epilepsy and narcolepsy. And cannot read or write. He has done a course for getting into work but no luck. He only get help 2 hrs daily which is not enough that is why he has been with me. I am sick of social services and I don't know what will happen when I am not here anymore. It is very difficult when you are disabled your self.
We were just having a few issues ourselves. Just left school & on to College. We advised 1 -1 support but no funding! All set up to fail. As behaviour was challenging. It was one thing after another. So the chance came after looking at a few places. Now independent living. Good strategy & support. Excellent routine that works well. Hope you get the right support soon & it works for you both.☺
I know it is ongoing things never seem to lighten up these days when you think things are ok something else pops up nd bites you on the bum .it is good to talk to someone that knows what you are going through. Thank you George56
Hi Hidden - you have had a really busy day! I hope that your Grandson settles into his place well, and it's great that you've helped him to get sorted - and I am glad to hear that you're going to be focusing on yourself and chilling - I agree with Tiggerr - you need some nice relaxation for yourself. Enjoy!
Hi Ruby8 - great that you went to the show at Olympia, and have come away inspired - it's fun to attend things like that and get ideas and inspiration.
Glad you're enjoying the weekend, and yes, it is a great island. Very beautiful. I am lucky with the scenery, and it changes every day - colour of the sea and sky and with the Spring flowers popping up now, it's looking really good.
I hope so. Great that you enjoyed your wee bus jaunt today, and visiting a small town - glad it cheered you up - and hope you have another really nice day tomorrow as well.
Hi hdarcy - I know how much I enjoy it when people post photos of their walks or their meals - I've decided I am a voyeur of both - I also love the animal photos that pop up from time to time like George56 's lovely dog Angus - who has featured recently - and is just gorgeous!
Yes, I'm hoping to hold onto this positivity if I can. I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
I love looking at pictures to and posting my own. We have some beautiful coast line in Devon and consider myself very lucky Today I took Sugs our Westie to a lovely village near us full of thatched cottage with a lovely country park. The spring floweres were out in abundance and I saw my first Magnolia in full bright white bud with the sun on it looked stunning.
Hi Hidden - lovely to hear from you, and the beautiful coastline in Devon is stunning! Your walk today sounds wonderful, and I bet that Sugs would have really enjoyed it.
Ooh, your first Magnolia - with sunshine shining on it, that sounds spectacular. It's sights like that which are really special.
Wishing you a lovely day tomorrow too, and hope the week ahead is a good one.
Yes Kath I was in the Royal Navy. 1971- 1987. Completed my service. HMS Tiger was my first ship. I was only 15yrs. HMS Cambridge the gunnery training & firing range was down your way. I enjoyed the life at sea & had many adventures. ☺
awwh my eldest was in the navy for about 4 years he was in the ops room and was on board HMS Sutherland which although was based in Plymouth, did have scottish connections when they came back from deployment there was always a Scottish piper on deck.
Angus says hi!🙂 In the car with me while the ladies are doing a wee shop. Easter eggs for wee miss. Not for me. Angus has his own travel bed on the rear seat. He enjoys up the front with his head out the window.🙂 Enjoy your weekend Zest.🤗 George
Wow that looks so lovely. It was freezing in Scotland today. I felt so cold after my run. It took a bath and several cups of tea and coffee to warm me up. Please send some of that sunshine up here 🌝
Hi Nomoreexcuses , Well done for going out for your run, despite the cold weather in Scotland, and I'll do my best to send up some sunshine for you! It's rainy here and grey today - so the sunshine has certainly gone somewhere else...
Oh no, what a pity your mountain walk was cancelled today - due to the weather. I can imagine that is disappointing - and I hope you are able to do something else. I am considering having a 'day off' from exercise today, which is unusual for me, but I have been pushing myself more this week and feel like I need to relax today!
Gym instead, I have been to busy this week to go at all so today I'll get back at it. You have a day off if you have been going at it all week, a rest day does the body good. 😊
What a stunning photo! Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear you are feeling positive and really good to see you here. I had a brief sit in the sun yesterday while my son was football training after my walk. It was lovely - although my view wasn't quite this amazing! It's raining and grey here now but what a difference even briefly seeing the sun makes. Have a lovely week. Roll on more Spring sunshine...
Glad you experienced the sun yesterday, and that you enjoyed a walk.
Yes, it's rainy and grey here too today - but I am hopeful that we'll have more sunshine as the week progresses. Like you say, 'roll on more Spring sunshine...' - here's to a great week ahead.
Thanks for your lovely reply, and glad to hear you had some sunshine yesterday as well. It's raining here too today - quite a contrast. But here's to a great week ahead, and I suspect you are anticipating a 'busy' time - as you are Little Miss Busy. Nice name!
Thank you, yes busy it will be, I am a teacher and have two boys!! As it is raining, I need to do my marking now as I have just finished helping the boys with their homework. Good job we all made the most of the sunshine yesterday. Have a great week x
Lovely to see you so positive, have to say it's been a tough month for me, emotionally and hormonally ( all that bloating again) and 2lb gain, back on track yesterday 😉
Sorry to hear that you've had a tough month, emotionally and hormonally - that's definitely tough. Your 2 pound gain is probably down to that, and it's good to hear you're back on track again as of yesterday - hopefully this month will be kinder to you! You deserve it!
Be kind to yourself, and here's to a great week ahead.
