my husband had to go to our community hospital for his hearing aid batteries. Its a mile on the flat. We walked there and back in 40mins. We then went to the shop, 20mins. and half a mile in distance, so I'm very pleased with that.

I know the feeling, hubby finished the xmas cake but still has to get through frozen mince pies, apples are very satisfyinf especially with a cup of green tea which I am trying to like.
For me, a brisk 2 hour walk burns 700 cals and a doughnut is only 215 cals. The trouble is, the doughnuts that I really like best only come in packs of five!! ☺
In my books, what you see as a treat is ok to have now and again.
What I do find though Is what I used to crave for is nothing special anymore. Getting over sugar addiction, my taste buds have changed and are clearer. I can taste every little thing now, amazing, and sugary stuff become yucky.
I know what you mean. With the marmalade it's the bitterness that I crave. Pretty much every commercial version is disgustingly sweet, now, and commercial cakes and biscuits are, too, thankfully.
Other than that, my downfall is pretty much everything... sigh...
I have to go past a fantastic cheese counter almost every day, and it drives me nuts! I can't abstain completely, so a nice (small) piece of tangy cheddar or lancs, some blue or stinky camembert is one of the treats that I let myself earn. I know that some people swear by measured cheese slices or dairylea triangles, but they don't do it for me. But if I don't manage to get out for a good walk, the cheese isn't allowed. The incentive is working so far... ☺
