But is it sustainable?

Actually, by reducing portions and calorie counting, 3.5lb a week loss could be achieved...

BUT - is is sustainable? What will you have learnt? If you eat weird and wacky diets, that's ok for a few days, but then that is why people tend to go off the rails!

Far better to aim for a slower rate of loss, learning to make lifelong changes to your diet and lifestyle - get rid of old unhealthy habits and embed new healthier ones!

Do let us know what that book says! I'm dying to know!

I agree, about aiming for a slower rate of loss...this diet is for 2 weeks, and there are foods listed you can eat any amount of without putting on weight...that would be a good start to name but a few: carrots, celery, broccoli, red peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, melon, raspberries, pineapple, herbal tea, salad with fat free dressing, sugar free jelly, ice lollies made from low sugar squash....

i guess the low sugar stuff would have to creep in somewhere, but the rest of the natural stuff is great...we would need to balance it with some carbs and fats and fibre too....hmmmmm oh well...off for a short brisk walk...later

The only think I would be concerned with - where is your energy going to come from? As you rightly point out there are no protein or fats! You will get carbs from vegetables, and quite a lot of those from the root veg. You'd also get enough fibre from veg (celery).

Hope you enjoyed your walk!

We'd be interested to know the basics of diet missussim - you know everyone has an opinion !

I'm sure it's probably been recycled into one of the latest ones.
