Hi, welcome. My tips would be to chuck out anything naughty, plan your meals and your time. Boredom can lead to overeating . You can do this, be strong. Take measurements so you can see results within a month. Good luck 🤞

Hi healthy46

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section on the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members here have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes on the days when the scales don't move.

We have weigh-ins everyday, Wednesday are full at the moment, but feel free to join us on any other day. You can find the Weigh-ins posted on the Home page in the Events section. Just click on the post in Events and state your starting weight, what you would like to lose and any loss/gain or maintain you have had over the week.

To get the best from the forum be active. Share experiences, ideas and tips. Read through some of the posts in the Topic section they are good for motivation and very inspiring.

Have a good first week.

Hello healthy46 and welcome to the weight loss forum. I would suggest that you set yourself small easy to reach targets. Think of some way of celebrating once you reach your target just to keep motivation going. Dont get stressed out if you have a bad day we are all human and we will have good days and bad days just move on from it and dont despair. Take it day by day. Good luck and keep posting on this forum it really helps, you get lots of support from people who are going through the same thing.

I have been signed up with weight watchers but cancelled today to calorie count and you would need to count everything including any cooking oil you use.

Salter scales are good and easy to use.

My fitness pal is what I use but you still need your scales to weigh your foods

Welcome healthy46. This will be the first step to a healthier lifestyle.

Tips- I think someone has already said clear your cupboards of any rubbish, but, at the same time be prepared to allow yourself a little treat once in a while. This needs to be a lifestyle change not a diet.

Drink plenty of water 1.5 - 2 litres a day

Stock up on plenty of fresh /frozen vegetables

Plan - plan your meals. you may not always end up sticking totally to the plan as life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes but do your best

And lastly, if you have a bad day don't beat yourself up about. It happens to us all, simply draw a line under it and get straight back on to it the next day

Good luck 😉
