Hi everyone I'm 26, 5ft3 and I currently weigh 15stone 8lbs. I've lost 1 stone & 7lbs through slimming world but I don't feel like this is educating my choices or portion control properly. I am determined to get into a healthy BMI by Christmas. X

Hi Starkatx,

I've just started on this forum today as well. You've lost an impressive amount already, well done!

I understand how you feel, I was with WW years ago and lost my excess weight but gained it back when I stopped following the plan. I think it was because I wasn't really feel educated, I saw the food I ate in terms of pro points.

Hi Echo ground thank you! I have definitely got that mindset with the 'syn' allowance but figured I didn't like how you had to syn avocado or mashed banana for example but could eat lots of muller lights as 'free' I don't really think it's a healthy approach so I've downloaded the 12week plan and willing to give it a go! I see you're a vegan if you have any yummy recipes feel free to share - I'm not keen on meat myself. X

God, I treated it like a game, seeing how many treats I could fit into my points haha. It was only cheating myself!

Do you have any strong likes/dislikes? I love garlic but hate passionfruit for example!

Hi and welcome, starkatx :)

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you :)

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news :)

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate :)

We run daily weigh-in's and you would be very welcome to join any, bar Monday and Tuesday, which are unfortunately full. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too :)

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey :)
