Hello Happy36

Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum ☺

Have a good look around the forum especially the Welcome Newbies post (in the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile)

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

The forum has weigh in threads on 6 days of the week that you are welcome to join. Unfortunately, Monday's group is fully subscribed but you are welcome to join any of the others ☺

There are regular challenges and progress 'badges' including a 'Newbie' one for when you first join the forum. If you would like one just ask ☺

Don't forget to take your initial measurements and photographs as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating. ☺

We are a very friendly group so please ask if you have any questions

Best wishes

Anna

Hello Happy36, welcome to the forum. I am sure there are lots of people in the same situation as yourself. What do you mean by getting time to cook for yourself? Who cooks for you now, or do you just eat whatever you prepare for your children?

Hi happy 36

I also have 2 children and work full time. Try to keep things simple and fill your plate with 1/3 veg. Also I use my net diary app to record what I eat and then I can see where I maybe over eating. I hope this helps a little.

All the best chelle

Hi there, I am a single mom that works too, I have 2 girls that I look after, bascially I find planning for the week helps me, I buy fresh meat, veg and fruit every week and then just make the meals healthy as possible. My kids will eat them too so that helps me. Just be positive and determined to reach your goal and you will get there, if you have any slip ups don't give up, pick yourself up and start again and before you know it you will be loosing weight and feeling so much better!! Good luck, you can do it and use the support on here too. x

Morning Happy36

The nice thing about the nhs 12 week plan is you can cook the same meal for all the family just watch you portion sizes. Have a look in the Topic section for recipes to give you some ideas. If you have the time at the weekend why not cook extra meals and freeze them to use in the week when your busy.

Planning is the key to achieving your goal. Good luck and enjoy your week.

Ccalorie control and reducing intake is going to have the biggest impact at first. If it was me I would try to make it easy for myself. Could I tweak what I eat and substitute parts of the meal with salad or veg in the microwave? This is easier that have to do complete different meals for everyne. Another thought is give everyone healthy food. I know some children are fussy eaters. Good luck I know you are going to have to do extra things to make it work for you. The benefits are worth making the changes. You will feel so much better when the pounds start to gently gradually slip away.

Try to ensure the whole family eat the same food. It will be better if everyone becomes healthy, you should look at this as a change for life, not just a diet. Most people don't realise how much they are overeating until they come on here and you won't want to have to keep going back onto diets for the rest of your life. At least here you can eat whatever you like, just best to make sure you are eating things in the right portion sizes and right amounts of calories for your height and weight.
