Hi, I am just starting out. So fingers crossed. 8 lbs is good for 3 weeks. I think the recommendation is 1-2 lbs a week. Keep up the good work.
"fifty fat and fed up"
I think you may have covered about a third of the people here lol
8 lbs in 3 weeks is amazing - you *should* be happy with that!
Nice to hear from you - I thought someone was lurking out there
well done on your 8lb loss, that's a big achievement in just 3 weeks! keep up the good work
Hiya!! Welcome to this amazing group but please don't say "fifty, Fat and Fed-up".... Think "Fifty,Fabulous and Focussed" - its so much more positive!!!
I joined the 50 club this year too so again welcome! I joined Slimming World and signed up to the NHS C25k online group and i've lost 1st 8lbs and can now run 5 k in 35 minutes. Being 50 is FAB!!
So excited for you as you are in the right place to avhieve your goals now. This forum is amazing so keep logging on and keeping us posted on your success. You can do it !! Xxx😄
Hello and welcome to the group x I am 50 too and have managed to lose 35lb since end of April. I cut out all the junk and just eat healthily as possible. You can and will do this if you stay focused. 8lb lost in 3 weeks is amazing and you must be so proud of yourself! Please keep us posted of your progress xx
Good luck with your weight loss! Important thing to remember is to monitor what you're eating (counting calories etc.) but don't beat yourself up if you have a slip up, just continue on with the plan I found I lost the majority of my weight by just cutting down my portion sizes and eating a bit slower so my food had time to digest and I felt fuller.
Best wishes with your journey.
I am attempting my healthy eating plan with my GP surgery, I have medical issues that affect mobility and just said that maybe if I lost a bit of weight it would help with my joint pain. He almost frog marched me to see the nurse for advice, who has given me the bhf guide to weight loss which I have found most helpful,
Losing weight may well help with your joint pain. Can you ask the nurse about what exercise you can still do considering your mobility issues? Some people do swimming based exercise e.g. aquafit, or there are youtube exercise videos for sitting down exercises. There may be something out there that you can do to become more active.
Hope you will find us all helpful and supportive. There's no frog marching on here, just lots of people all trying to do the same thing as you, and sharing tips and strategies as we all go along
Nurse is sourcing a dvd that she feels may be helpful for exercising with my health problems, hopefully I can get it at my next apt,
So far everyone has been wonderful with support and encouragement hope to be able to do the same with others who are just starting on the journey x
