Hey, I'm Lorna, 40 and a mum to 1 plus 2 step children. All teenagers. Spent my adult life concentrating on others and the weight has slowly slipped on. Now it is time for me and to get back in shape. Need to lose around 3 stone but really just looking to feel healthier and have more energy. I currently get out of breathe and feel like I have no energy.
New year new me

Have a good look around the forum especially the Newbies post (in the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) and also the links to the NHS 12 week plan weight loss plan. This is an excellent plan with weekly email support. ☺
The forum has weigh in threads on 6 days of the week that you are welcome to join. Unfortunately, Monday's group is fully subscribed but you are welcome to join any of the others ☺
There are regular challenges and progress 'badges' including a 'Newbie' one for when you first join the forum. If you would like one just ask ☺
Don't forget to take your initial measurements and photographs as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating. ☺
We are a very friendly group so please ask if you have any questions
Hi, well done for concentrating on others but it is a shame it has affected your own health. We are all very friendly people here and if you have a bad week with losing weight don't just give up, stick with it and just start again and u will find that things will pick up. We all have bad weeks at time and just pick ourselves up and continue. Sometimes they can last longer than 1 week but don't worry. I started beginning of November and am 1lbs off losing a stone. Good luck and all the best with your weight loss!
I felt the same way as you, looking after everyone else but myself. As the children get older and got less 'needy', it suddenly clicked and I thought 'enough is enough'. Time to focus a little on myself !!!
I initially lost a good deal of weight following the 12 week plan, then an increase in working hours made me lose my focus.
In the summer I joined SW and have lost another 2 stone and rejoined the Couch to 5k nhs running plan and forum.
I am slowly approaching my target weight and feel so much fitter than I used to.
Glad you found this forum- the support is amazing and always remember - you CAN do this !!! 😊
