Hi Lizzie. I've been mostly overweight for my whole life too. I can remember though how good I felt for the few odd years I wasn't, and want to get back to that as everything just seems to improve. I gave up smoking on the 3 Sept last year and added another stone to my already obese body. Let's hope we both do it this time.

Welcome lizzie2john . I'm much the same age as you and with the same sort of history. I'm sure you'll find the forum helpful. Have a look at the pinned posts and you'll see how it all works. Good luck, onwards and downwards.

Hi and welcome, Lizzie :)

Go to the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) and take a look at the Welcome Newbie thread. If you have any questions, look at the Topics below, to see if they'll help you out, or ask on the forum. Join any, or all of our challenges :)

We run daily weigh-in sessions and you would be very welcome to join us today, or any other day. The thread can be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom if using a mobile.

Many people have been successful with the 12 week plan, if that's something that you'd like to do. Don't forget to take initial measurements and photos, as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating fully :)

Wishing you all the very best with your weight loss journey :)

Hello lizzie2john ☺ and welcome to the forum ☺

You are not alone on the losing/ gaining weight roller coaster journey 😐 But you are absolutely right to focus on making permanent change for life long health and fitness ☺

Have a good look around the site and the links moreless suggested. We are a very friendly group so please ask if you have any questions ☺

Best wishes

Anna
