Hi all....I have just joined and my goals are to lose weight, get healthier all

round and look good for my first cruise in May! Not much to ask...ahermmm.

Good luck to us all and may your dreams come true x I should add, I am female and

late 50's. I gave up smoking last year, if I can do that, I can do this, right?

Welcome. You've found a great place.

Cruise in May sounds divine and a great reason to trim up ready for the cossy.

12 week plan is a great way to start.

Of course you can do this. How much do you hope to lose for your cruise in May?

Whilst I bet it was tough giving up smoking, you must feel so much better for it. Congrats!

Hi Fizzyliz, I am hoping to lose at least a stone and a half...my downfall is

crisps and cashew nuts...chocolate too....got to stop lol.

Welcome MadBMad :) Wonderful to quit smoking, very well done! If you can do that then you can definitely lose weight :) It always helps to have an incentive, too, and I can't think of a better one than a cruise! :)

jopo has already mentioned the 12 week plan, that's how I started, and I found it very good. Small changes to incorporate exercise are another way to help shed those pounds, and make you feel healthier. Take stairs instead of a lift, walk more etc.

I'm so envious of your upcoming cruise and we'll definitely help you to get fitter and healthier in time for it :)

Go to the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) and take a look at the Welcome Newbie thread. If you have any questions, look at the Topics below, to see if they'll help you out, or ask on the forum. Join any, or all of our challenges :)

We run daily weigh-in sessions and you would be very welcome to join, on any day, except Sunday. The thread can be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom if using a mobile.

Have a look at the 12 week plan, to see if that might be something that would appeal to you and don't forget to take initial measurements and photos, as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating fully :)
