In 2016 I gave up alcohol. For good. Dont want it anymore, dont need it any more, done. Just like that.

In 2017 I am giving up being fat. For good. Dont want it anymore, dont need it any more, done. Just like that.

This confidence in my ability is the only thing that will get me through.

Current weight 18st 10lb

Height 5' 7"

Goal: 1 lb a week for 52 weeks.

Who is with me?

Noel

Giving up being fat - what a great goal. I am giving it up too. Count me in. I have lost the bit I put on over Xmas and now firmly back to my healthy eating. Not gone back to the exercise but I will tomorrow. I am aiming for 6 stone loss this year - 1.6 lb a week. Bring it on!

The great thing about giving up alcohol (I have too) is that alcohol fuelled munchies can do a lot of calorie damage! I have been known to eat 1 - 2,000 calories during an alcohol fuelled munchie attack!

I'm always going to be "cuddly", but I am to be "less fat" this year and also aim to move more, particularly stretches (for 30 minutes) and Pilates (30 minutes) on as many days as I am able (at least 3-4 x a week) as that really helps with keeping me mobile and keeps my aches and pains at bay.

I'm a relative newbie to the Community, but not to weight loss. Have managed to lose 4.5 stone (from 14 stone to 9.5 stone) but presently about 10.5 stone... need to get that pesky stone back off and hopefully another 7lbs buffer....

Well done on giving up the alcohol - good luck on giving up being fat. I'm using the Blood Sugar Diet to shift my weight - managed to shift 13lbs in 7 weeks doing it just before Christmas, but a 2 week sunshine holiday (with some daily sangria!) and 2 weeks of Christmas saw 11lbs of it returning!

Me me meeeee....I'm with ya woohoo!!! 😃😃

Last year hubby and I gave up alcohol. Hubby hadn't drunk any for some time, I decided I wasn't enjoying the wine I was drinking and really wanted a smoothie!

This year, like you, we decided that we really need to lose weight. We each need to lose about 3 stone. How quickly we lose that weight is another matter. We just plan to eat more healthily. Few meals out, no takeaways, no ready meals.

Good luck with your weight loss.
