I wish that had been me π But I was really good even though my partner was at home all day trying to tempt me with tasty treats and a Chinese meal. But I said no and stuck to my diet and for tea I had baked potato and salad. (He had his takeaway)
Ignore that tub of celebrations! I've got a tub sat in our house as my partner bought them for me to thread and hang on Christmas tree! But you kind peeps told me to get that lid on and hide temptation π Obviously you can't do that but my son came up with another good idea saying well before you pop it in your mouth think of it in its raw state in a bowl and imagine eating that first. It does make you think! π He also said the same about wine, mix a glass of sugar water and the other bits and bobs then if you can drink that first then you go for it π
I'm so proud of him as he as gone from a very weighty lad to a very slim running weight lifting fitness machine πππ»
He has never pushed me but always tried to encourage me to loose my excess baggage. But he knows I'm definitely trying now and he fones me every other day to see how I'm doing.
Good luck with ignoring those celebrations, you can do it! Think how many steps you have to take to burn it off! π€
Hi Sheepdogs your sons idea is similar to mine when I think of cheese and onion or indeed any crispsπ’ I once saw a programme on TV showing how they are made and the flavourings in powder form ughhh! Unfortunately I can still be weak enough to consume the odd bag every once in a while but crisps were my downfall lol.π
As I said he had got very weighty and used to drink and smoke, then one day decided that it was time to sort himself out and he gave up drinking, smoking, junk food and took up running and a healthy diet.
He is so slim and fit now with a great mind set π
Good morning Fizzyliz, I'm pleased to report my first dry day of the week duly done. I was meant to go out but no one was free so I came home early instead. I didn't pick up anything on the way except for a few veg and only drank water all evening. And that's despite receiving yet another job rejection yesterday Keep trying to stick to your guns Fizzyliz. Maybe play a game of trying to work out who else is studiously avoiding the celebrations tin too...
Hi FizzyLiz. Those big tubs of Celebrations are so tempting. They almost call at you to say 'you know you want one'. Trouble is if you have one then it is a slippery slope! Hope you can give that tub a good talking to and manage to them resist today. I am trying to make a last ditch attempt before Christmas so my pledge is to stay within my calorie allowance and go for a walk and deliver all my neighbours Christmas cards. Hope you have a good day
Well done for only having 2 lindt truffles -they are my favourite! I had a diabolical day yesterday as it was our work Christmas party at our house, and I made all the party food. It did include some healthy things like humus and veg sticks, watermelon and strawberries. .....but also quite a bit of puff pastry inventions (some pulled pork cajun style, sone mince pie-ish), cupcakes, truffles, crisps, and so on. Gosh. The plan to have one of everything went a bit wrong.
So, my pledge for today is to stick completely and angelically to 1400 cals. Tomorrow is my daughters 9th birthday - she has it all planned - pancakes for breakfast, out for lunch at Pizza Hut with her grandad , and friends for a bbq tea. Yikes. Christmas will be easy after all this......
Ate normally yesterday plus no alcohol - low cal stew saved from Sunday and cauli rice. No yoghurt treat either because we ran out and I had to use the scrapings to start a new batch! But stupidly I've put the bottle of Black Cow vodka, which I'm saving until Thursday, when I make mince pies whilst drinking a martini, right next to the TV! Still resisted it though.
Hi Hidden I did well yesterday and didn't eat anything I shouldn't all day. I made a veg curry with cauli rice for dinner, and had enough spare calories to have a bag of Tesco mini poppadoms with it (200 cals!). The first time I've had anything resembling a crisp, since starting my diet I ate 2 and then thought, actually, I'm not too keen on these! They tasted quite salty and were hard rather than crisp, so I gave them to my son
I would find it hard to resist Lindt truffles, though, and very nearly bought some this year, as I have done every other year. Well done on only eating 2! I'm one of these 'all or nothing' people, so find it's easier not to buy chocolate and treats in the first place. Fortunately, I don't work, so don't have outside temptations
I'm trying to save myself for my Christmas dinner, with the family, at my sister's, so that is keeping me on track, so far Good luck to you!

I really like those mini poppadums! They're nice to have just few on top of a bowl of curry and rice with a bit of chutney and finely chopped slaw tucked in there too. I call it a 'veggie curry bowl', makes me feel like I'm at a festival

I do, normally, too! Even my son said they weren't very nice, so maybe I was just unlucky (or lucky, depending on how you look at it, lol). Your veggie curry bowl sounds lovely

Maybe upgrade to the m&s mini poppadums next time
I try not to deny myself anything, or I end up feeling deprived and miserable! But I do try and stay within my calorie allowance. So I allowed myself a small slice of delicious stollen yesterday after my low cal broccoli soup. All things in moderation, people! π
I did not eat mince pie or chocolate and because of medication I cannot drink but I had a sconce.
