I'm new to this forum, I'm hoping to get the support and encourgment to lose weight and live an active life!
I have 9 stone to lose, I am focusing on the NHS choices pyschology that it takes 12 weeks to change a habit! My habit is over eating! Being honest with myself is the first step!

Hi Kirsty and welcome take a look at the pinned posts section to the right hand side of the screen especially the welcome newbies bit.
Check how many calories you should have by using the BMI checker, I stick to the lower end of mine so I have a bit of leeway for under estimating my daily calories I have had.
Drink plenty (1.5litre) a day but I must admit since summer has gone my intake of this has fallen.
Up the exercise even just more walking as in my case but any exercise you find enjoyable to do helps.
Join in any challenges you wish also on the pinned posts section.
Weigh in is Monday's and a link is put on am or pm you just click on it and puts yours on but only if you wish to.
Download week 1 of the plan it's easy to follow.
I have a fit bit to log my calories, steps, water etc but you can buy any fitness tracker or use myfitnesspal which is free off the net.
This isn't a diet and nothing is forbidden, just stick to your calories allowance it's that that makes you start having better choices I have the odd chocolate bar etc but it's always added in. Everything contains calories so you should add everything up.
There's recipes on the pinned posts section if you need any or just post and ask for help if needed.
Lastly good luck make small goals maybe to reach your first half stone than give yourself a non food treat plus there are badges on here you can ask for to put next to your name.
