First step: Hi all I am 55 and really... - Weight Loss Support
First step
It starts when you decide that it starts! If your first email should come tomorrow then you could make tomorrow the day when you start to make some positive changes. You could wait til Monday - that's my weigh-in day and I find that it helps to keep me focused over the weekend. Lowcal invites people to weigh-in with her on a Monday morning - you will see the post. You are in control of this and the site and the emails are just there to help you along so start whenever it feels right. Anyway, welcome to the group and good luck with your journey....
Thank you so much ok I see what you mean about the weekends and staying focused ok Monday will be my start day will use the weekend to shop for healthy foods, so do I have to share my weight oh dear I hope not .
Welcome and good luck 77pert. You can share as much or as little as you like. You will find some great advice, inspiration and support here. Enjoy!
Lol you don't have to do anything - this is just a support group to answer q's, share tips and share the highs and lows of your journey. Some people do post their weight but it's a personal choice. I didnt, I just said how much weight I had to lose and I now post my weekly loss/ gain at Lowcal's weigh-in. I look forward to seeing you there - pop by on Monday and say hello as that will be week 1 and then you will be ready to weigh-in the following week and report any weight loss. If there's anything that you want to ask/say but don't want to post publicly then feel free to drop me a message
p.s That's a good idea re using the weekend to get organised as that's half the battle. Having lots of healthy foods around definitely makes it easier to eat the right things. Maybe also use the weekend to set yourself some longterm and interim goals - my target weight is a long way off so I set myself weekly/ monthly goals - and also consider what your rewards will be for achieving them - massage, hairdo, etc. You can use measures other than weight too - whether clothes fit, body fat (if you have access to electronic scales), fitness, energy levels etc. Hope this helps
