Advice on dieting and Warfarin
Hi jakesnanny2,
Welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum here on HealthUnlocked - this forum is a great place for support, motivation and inspiration to lose weight.
Take a look at the NHS 12 Week Plan, it contains recipes and exercise plans to follow for the first twelve weeks of your journey.
Take a look at the left of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile device) and find the 'Pinned Posts' section, here you can find various challenges that are going on in the forum (take part in whatever ones take your fancy - if any do at all!), there is also a recipe collation there and any important posts from Admin
Also to your left is the 'Topics' area, here you can find posts related to each topic, it's good if you are looking for something specific
The Monday Group Weigh In takes place weekly and is posted alternately by Zest and moreless (I suggest you follow them, they are also our site admins), a morning session post is put live just before 06:30 and runs until midday, while the afternoon session runs from midday until 18:00 on the Friday of that week - the Afternoon session from the Monday just passed is still open, and is until 18:00 tomorrow, so why not go over and post your starting weight there?
All that remains is to wish you a great first week on the forum - be involved because it's where we get our boost each day
Rob
Hi Jakesnanny2,
I'd also like to suggest you look at this page from NHS Choices about Warfarin, and there is a section about food and drink towards the bottom of that page, here is the link:

Hope this is helpful, and hope to see you around and about in the forum.

Hello jakesnanny2 😊 I can understand your concern, especially with the warning about vitamin k 😕 But weight loss is mostly about portion control so this is a good place to start 😊 Generallt if you boost your fruit and veg intake and reduce meat content this will help 😊 But it probably is worth speaking to your GP to get a dietician referral if you are concerned 😊
You don't mention exercise, but regular movement is excellent to increase fitness and gives a real boost to mood 😊
Good luck and best wishes
Hi Anna, Thanks for your reply, I was thinking portion control is the way to go rather than missing out meals. I go to aqua aerobics 3 times a week and used too walk a lot but have been on beta blockers recently to control my atrial fibrillation and blood pressure and they seem to affect my walking but am hoping that is a temporary thing. Good idea about the dietician. Thanks for your advice don't feel so along with the issue. Kind regards Jeanette
