I'm new here and raring to go on the NHS 12 week challenge! It is something I've wanted to do for ages and after i health scare I am more determined than ever.
I have some worries as I embark on this journey. The first one is that I can still eat between 1700-2000 calories a day, according to the BMI calculation on the website. I've been doing that for a few days and it doesn't feel like a diet or any reduction at all.
My second fear is my work as I do a lot of client lunches and entertaining, it's really hard to stay away from the bad stuff- booze included. I am not going into this at the best time of year, however I plan to cycle to work each day and stick to my calorie goal. Surely it has to pay off!
Thanks

Good luck on journey. The client lunches dont mean you have to eat unhealthy or drink booze
Hi Collie2 and welcome
I am in my first week and like you I thought that the range of calories was high - the first 2 days I ate less than recommended lowest and now eating in the middle of the range
I was naughty the other day and weighed myself (although not due to weigh in until tomorrow) and I had lost 3lbs
I am now parking the car slightly further away from work and walking 15 mins in at a good speed (well it's increasing) and my office is on the 2nd floor so I am taking the stairs, when anyone asks for someone to take the post down to the post room I try and co-ordinate it so that I can do it (down two floors and back up again)
It's little changes that help - I am not fit and so have just changed these things to build in exercise for me and it's working, I am also doing the couch to 5k but taking it slowly

Hiya and welcome. Loads of good advice already. If you are honest about your exercise, and you are cycling each day, then the bmi should be correct with the calories. Good luck. Xx
Hi Collie2
Welcome to the forum!! Don't be worried about the calories being too much, the bigger you are the more energy your body needs just to function. It's more what we eat than the figures though so try making some healthy alternative to favourite snack. Small steps make for big changes in weight loss. Also, as it has been mentioned - lunches out etc does not mean you have to opt for the high calories or booze. It will require you to be more disciplined though but once you get into the swing of things you'll be fine.
