Hello peeps,

I have been on a very stressful job lately and have not been focussing on my weight loss! So I'm back now and the plan is to cut out processed foods and do more home cooking. Lets hope I will have a loss to report on Monday!

Hi Sharonalex,

Having any form of stress can make losing weight extremely difficult. I hope that you're coping a bit better now your very stressful job is over, and hopefully you can focus on your weight now and get back on track. You've set yourself a great pledge to minimise processed foods, so good luck with that, and enjoy more home cooking. Maybe have a look at the Collation of recipes and meal ideas, or look in the topics section, where there are also many more recipes available.

Good luck for your weigh-in on Monday, and enjoy the week in the meantime.

What with sneaky hidden trans-fats, preservatives and chemicals in a lot of processed food, home-cooking is always your best bet. I've always thought that the rising obesity epidemic has got something to do with processed food- because in war-time we all used to eat things with lard/dripping, cakes and puddings, butter with everything, and we were much leaner- but everything was home made. I know we have a much more sedentary lifestyle now, but part of me thinks it's not just that that's caused this fat problem.
