Hi, I have just came back from a lovely week in Cornwall but it has made me realise how much my 17 stone body is holding me back,I was unable to do alot of the uphill walks which meant I missed out on some great views and was feeling my excess weight all the time,I have also got type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and I am only 48 and have said this many times but I have got to get healthy and next year I would love to hill walk in wales and stride up them happily xx
Holiday Blues: Hi, I have just came back... - Weight Loss Support
Holiday Blues
Welcome back Mandy
We all of us have a defining moment, that brings us to our senses and makes us realise that we're doing ourselves no favours by continuing in the same unhealthy way that we always have
I know you're not a newbie, but take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.
Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest , you'll be notified when she posts the thread. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration
Wishing you all the very best
For me it was a question of carry on as I was or attempt to improve things 😕 I realised quite small changes, cutting back just few hundred calories and walking a little bit more could add up to significant improvements over time 😊 It's about getting your head in the right place, find a way of eating that's sustainable and an exercise routine that you enjoy, Welsh hills to climb for example 😊 Good luck! 😊
SNAP! That's exactly what happened to me, I joined up here after returning from holiday where my lack of fitness was quite noticable to me. I even struggled negotiating walking on banks of pebbles on the beach. Good luck to both of us!
I think I've had one of those moments too (also 17 stone here) where it's just "for goodness sake, what am I doing to myself" and you realise you need to turn your lifestyle over. I'm re-joining the plan tomorrow too (this is the second time I've done it - it worked well the first time). Hopefully see you at the Monday weigh in tomorrow!
Yes,will see you then,good luck 🍀
