Hi there, does anyone have any better options on meats as I eat quite a bit of chicken and normally not that much red meat, I cannot eat fish as I am allergic to all fish and shellfish...... so suggestions would be helpful as I am not too sure that I want to stick to turkey lol
thanks in advance

How about pulses - beans, peas and lentils? Nuts and seeds are also a great source of protein. So are some dairy products like skyr. I also have eggs and tofu.
I'm not the biggest red meat fan but the thin cut steak on the george is lovely and can be sliced up into pittas or rice or salad. Quorn mince is fantastic for pasta. Heinz do a lovely veg chili also. Turkey burgers are nice if they are seasoned nicely too
We actually need much less meat that you would perhaps expect so don't worry about having meat at every meal. My children both had excema and a very long list of food intolerance so I sympathise 😕 Plus one who was vegetarian - eeek!
My mainstay is a 'tomatoe' sauce made from finely chopped or minced onion carrot leek celery garlic red pepper . . . (Whatever you can squeeze in without the children noticing those alien 'vegetables' ) simmered slowly with vegetable stock, lentils and tomatoe purée. This is lovely on pasta. Add a few kidney beans and cayenne for a cheats chilli. Add Garam masala, spinach and chick peas for curry. Add quorn mince if you like the texture (I don't but the kids did) for shepherds pie 😊
As adults I leave the veg a little coarser and add mushrooms and frozen peas. I make a big pan in my slow cooker and it will do 3 or 4 meals.
Like I said before don't stress about the meat, couple of eggs, bit of cheese, milk etc all help protein, as do things like frozen peas, bread, cereal etc which all have some protein too.
A great alternative to regular red meat is venison, deer. It is naturally much lower in both calories and fat (about a 1/3 of steak) but still has a very good taste and texture. It is versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes. Price wise it comes in at about half the cost of steak at my local sainsburys.
Just like you I don't eat meat either, good sources of protein are eggs, pulses, try protein powders like hemp or soy protein powder add a scoop into your fruit or vegetable smoothie. Tofu, yeo valley probiotic yogurt or soya yogurt.
Unfortunately for me i am lactose intolerant and my stomach doesn't react too well to soy so my main protein intake comes from fish.
Have you ever tried roasting vegetables? It makes them so soft and delicious. You can then incorporate them into a tomato based sauce, add chickpeas or kidney beans and have with brown rice. Just another idea!
