I lost two stone previously, but now I'm trying to lose the last stone I keep putting a pound on then losing a pound then gaining it back, so feeling a bit stuck, any advice?

Kind of stuck after two stone loss
I had the same problem, after losing to stones I got a bit stuck. it's normal, after such a long time on a diet, your body got used to the new lifestyle. Keep counting calories and stay active. Be patient and your body weight will eventually get down.
Hi PheonixJo
If what you have been doing isn't working at the moment, then you need to shake it up.
I have lost more than 5 stone, working on the last 2lbs now, but it has taken me a very long time as I wasn't always focused. Every stone gone seemed to cause me to plateau. Once even for 6 months before I noticed that this 3lbs or so had been wavering around a long time. Thank goodness for weight loss graphs, seeing that mostly horizontal line instead of a downward trend was what got me going again.
Things that have worked for me: logging all intake, planned and unplanned, in a food diary so that I had something to review and tweak (you can't change what you're doing if you don't know exactly what you're doing before you change it!); emergency major dental work done over Christmas and not being able to eat properly (not a recommendation); going back to the diet's meal plan from the first month and eating their meals rather than doing my own thing (that worked 4 times for me); eating more fruit instead of other snacks; cutting most fruit out and having a lot more veg; cutting severely back on carbs; weighing and measuring everything and logging it before I ate it; going away for the weekend and eating more, but not as much as I used to, and lots of activity; having a lot of variety in the size and kcal of meals - so my body didn't know what was coming next; walking a lot more; starting an exercise programme; cutting back on the exercise programme to every other day, so I didn't just lose inches but also lbs; making sure there was lean protein and as much veg as I could manage at every meal. Sure you can find something you fancy amongst that little lot.
My healthy eating advisor said that those final lbs have been with us the longest and she reckoned they were the hardest to lose, because they love us and want to cling on. There is definitely some folk wisdom hidden in her joke. I think Albert Einstein defined idiocy as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get a different result.
So mix it up. And you can go back to what you like once you have got the scales moving downwards again. You don't have to do the new version for ever, unless you prefer it.
Hoping the scales are kind to you next time you weigh,
Venus
