Day 3 .....

Bit of background, 32 years old, BMI 33, tendency to comfort eat to deal with anxiety issues.

Today is day 3 of week 1 and I didn't have chance to pack my lunch and snacks - I can't believe how difficult it's made today.

Not helped by the fact I did some HIIT training last night and my entire body hurts today.

Tell me this is going to get easier - self esteem is at extreme low - I wants change but it's a definite shock to the system!

NB: apologies to all this is a self pitying broadcast to strangers. Reading all your posts - I hope that I can achieve the goals that you guys have - you're an inspiration!

HI Superbunches,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum, and it's great that you've joined us. I hope that it will get easier for you over time, it's always harder at the beginning, but just make the changes gradually, and you'll get there! We're all around and alongside you to give you some moral support and cheer you on.

Have you read the Welcome Newbie post yet? It's in the Pinned posts area, which are in the top right-hand-side of the homepage, and it's really inspiring.

Maybe join our Monday group weigh-ins, if you'd like to be part of a larger weigh-in group. It's a supportive and friendly group.

Wishing you well for the remainder of the week. You can do this!

Lowcal :-)

This journey to permanent long lasting health and fitness is made up of many steps, taken one step at a time 😊 It encompasses many elements, food choices, portion control, exercise, socialising etc so don't expect to be perfect all the time, or have all the skills straight away, especially on day three!! Be kind to yourself, 😊 you will be extra hungry after a workout so eat a bit more if you need to 😊

As the plan progresses you will learn to deal with challenging situations. Hope you have a good day and your aches and pains ease off 😊

You're absolutely right - I think I was hoping to see magic changes and immediate results - which I realise is ridiculous. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. xx

It's not ridiculous at all, it's human nature to want results 😊 But slow and steady wins at this game, a generous eating plan that can be sustained long term 😊

There is also a link somewhere about emotional eating, how it's hot wired into our brains To eat when we are stressed or anxious, 😕 I find it helps to understand 😊

Good luck with day 4 and the rest of the plan 😊
