Starting Week 1

Today I am starting Week 1 of the 12 week plan as i need to lose weight. I weigh 13st 7lbs and need to lose at least 3st. I plan on doing at least five 30 mins walks this week to boost my exercise up. I am also not going to eat after 7pm as I know that it puts weight on. I know that this will be a hard thing for me to do but if I dont then my health will deteriorate further. I will post each monday about the previous week and how i got on.

Welcome to the forum shadow2foxy. Well done on getting started. I've just completed week 3 and I'm really enjoying it. Walking is free exercise so well done on committing to those walks. For me after 7pm was a difficult time too. It was probably also the time where I piled on most of my weight. That wasn't due to the time in the day but because I had already had my three meals. If you stick to your calories and want to have something after 7 then save calories for then. I have a bag of crisps most nights for instance because I save 135 calories for them. Be honest with yourself and count everything. I wish you the very best and look forward to reading about your progress in the weeks and months to come.

I wanted to let you know that we have a Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned posts area (top right-hand-side of the homepage) so that is worth a read, and also there are numerous Challenges going on in the Pinned posts area too, and below that in the Events section is a link to the Monday group weigh-in sessions, so do have a look to see if you fancy also participating in a larger weight loss group. You'd be very welcome to join us - but you may not wish to do that, if you're keeping your own weekly progress report, - just wanted to give you options, and choices, and let you know what is available here in the forum currently.

walk number 1 is now done. feeling breathless but will persevere. tried following c25k week 1 but could only do 1 run, so walked the rest. maybe i should try c25k when i have lost some of this excess weight first. maybe i should get fitter first too.

Hi there

I have started today too. I weigh 13st 5lb and want to lose 2 stone.

Cycling is my exercise just now and i'm trying to up my mileage each week.

Good idea. Weigh in each Monday? Log any exercise? I can't walk properly just now due to knee injury, post op now so improving, I can cycle and going to try swimming this week.

Welcome shadow2foxy like you I am new 😀. I started the 12 week plan on Tuesday so can't wait for my first weigh in. My starting weight is 14 stone 5 pounds so I have a whopping 5 stone to lose but I'll get there (I'll make sure of it). Good luck and keep us updated with how you are getting on

Hi,

I'm new here too and started the 12 week plan today. How are you all finding the plan so far? I'm sitting at 14 stone 8lbs so I'm in real need to lose 3 and a half stone. It sounds like you have a good plan in place and best of luck with it :)

I did a 30 minute walk today and stayed within the 1400 calorie limit. I have still got 76 calories to use but I won't be eating or drinking any more tonight. Day 1 is complete. Tomorrow is day 2 and I will be going for another walk, and will be counting calories so I keep within my limit.
