So i thought it would be easier to follow the diet plan as i work quite long days so less time to think about snacking! However i didn't bank on the amount of temptation that sneaks up on you at work. All ready today I've been offered 2 pieces of cake, a chocolate bar and a latte...... It was easier when I was at home and that's where my fridge is haha!
Any tips on how to let people down gently without telling them I'm trying to diet? (from previous experience they seem to get worse if you say the D word!)
Right now I'm sitting in my office right next to a box of heroes..... its like they know.
Thanks,
Kayleigh

Don't use the D word, because you're not on a diet. Tell them you are embarking on a new healthy lifestyle, which doesn't allow for sugar! Tell them that your health is far too important to you, to risk it eating junk food any more. Tell them anything you like, but always tell them no thank you
I think we should all get decoys! Like when they go duck hunting, only put a toy doughnut/cake/cookie on your desk and then you can pretend you've already got something rather than have to use the dreaded D word.
Practically, I always have something low-cal in my locker if I need something. Currently I have dried apricots (89 cal/50g) and blueberry-vanilla rice cakes (35 cal/cake). So I can have a sweet treat without piling on too many calories.
Just say, "no thanks, I'm not hungry right now." Hopefully you'll have had enough to eat beforehand so your belly isn't rumbling! (A rumbling belly can be a bit of a give-away sometimes.)
Perhaps they are just being friendly/trying to make you feel welcome. Sharing food is something we do to show hospitality. Some people are 'in' the eating club, others are not, decline graciously and they will soon realise which group you belong to.
Good tips.....especially about the eating clubs/groups......so true.....you don't want to be seen as the odd one....but actually does it matter...I ask myself.....
