Right, first of all I'm 22 and 6ft 2. I have always been "plump" since I became the one who always had seconds in brownie camp. A couple of years ago I decided to lose weight. It was easier when I had moved away from home for uni as I could control what I would see in the cupboards. In the space of 6 months I went from 14st11 to 12st. I was so happy with the way I looked and I felt more confident than ever. Unfortunately around the end of these 6 months, my boyfriend at the time and I, split up. I drank a hell of a lot and partied most of the time.
I loved looking at the pictures from my 21st birthday as those photos signified the new, skinnier, confident, me. Inside, however, I was a mess. I had several miserable months and made a few wrong turns. At the end of 2011, I met my new boyfriend. He made me feel loved and that was all I needed, or so I thought. With the new relationship I forgot about my diet and enjoyed myself, knowing he loves me no matter what. My weight crept on and when I started to notice I stepped into the scales. 13st10! I'd put back on over half the weight I'd spent a long time trying to get off. I would look at myself in the mirror and think I was hideous. I wondered where my confidence had gone and realised that being thinner gave me that. I thought it came from someone else appreciating you but it's not. It comes from you appreciating yourself and I can only do that when I'm thin.
So I decided to do something about it. I started the couch to 5k plan. I completed the couch to 5k plan. With a 10lb weight loss. So I was 13st just before Christmas. It's now crept up to about 13st4 and now I'm looking at my eating habits. I thought exercise was a tough nut to crack for me so I thought I'd give this weight loss plan a go.
My goal weight is 11st 7lbs
My current weight is 13st 4lbs
Weight to lose is 25lbs
I have a cruise in October to go on, so that's my target. I am just about to finish my current job and start a new one on Monday so I shall start Monday. I work nights at the moment which makes it difficult to get into a routine with food. Hopefully when I start my 9-5, it will be a lot easier.
Well I just thought I'd share a little about me and I hope to read all of your inspirational stories so that I'm motivated to stay on track.

Think about it in terms of eating healthily rather than being on a diet. That way you will keep the weight off. You are already in the healthy BMI zone for your height, so don't panic. Combining weight loss plan with exercise usually works, so good luck and don't be too hardon yourself....
Yeh being healthy is the main aim. It's hard when I don't cook my dinner time food, so I have to be extra aware that I need to eat less than what's on my plate or pick the good foods to eat.
Thanks for the tip
Nice to meet you, Lazy_moo and congratulations on being in a lovely relationship, look forward to reading how you are doing on your new healthier lifestyle.
Hi Lazymoo yes i agree with Nomi dont look at it as a diet your just changing your eating habits,i to have struggled with my weight for years i did join weightwatchers a few years ago my start weight was 14st i did lose a stone, but then i lost my way a bit and i piled it on now im 15st 4lb so i have got 5st to lose to get to my target weight. the thing is once we change our eating habits we must stick to it cos if not thats when we put on what we lose and loads more, its this programme that has kicked started me i wish you all the best and keep in touch and let us know how your getting on
Yes, you too! I'm intrigued to see how well I stick to this programme. Hopefully I don't struggle too much. I have calorie counted before and done well so fingers crossed!
Good for you for doing couch to 5 k ( ive just started that) thing is now you know you can loose weight and self belief is so important. I think its good to have a goal to work towards like the cruise!
You can do it at a pound a week and it requires perseverance and understanding. Though my title is geoffreygreen I am in fact female. That was meant to be my password. I have lost 45 pounds I the past six months
1 walking a's much a's you can manage comfortably on an everyday basis
2 Eating the right foods with potassium, magnesium and calcium. Look these up online and choose the things you like to eat
4 Try to reduce the amount of sweet things you eat. Do not replace them sweetener substitutes because sweeteners aren't all that good for you and you still resin the habit of eating sweet things
5 eat plenty of raspberries, strawberries, broccoli cauliflower nuts dates, seed garlic and herbs.oat bran These will reduce tummy fat, particularly and fat generally
6 Keep a lidded container with raisins sultanas nuts (a variety) dried or preserved fruit and if you feel like a snack just have a very small handful each time
7 drink plenty of fluids, about 2 litres a day but not much of it in coffee or tea unless it's green or herb tea. Good luck sue
I never dieted. I went online and found out about everything though I'm still learning still losing weighted steadily at a Pound a week. I have gone so far from 97 kilos to 77. I hope to lose another 15 kilos in the next six months.eat ether some oily fish each week or walnuts if you don't like the fish.
Have a look at the Trim Down club. Listen to their message ( a bit long , tedious and repetitive but helps you think differently) about 5 foods not to eat. you don't have to join unless you want to and it's your choice whether you follow it religiously or just get the gist of what it's saying. Think in terms of food science and what food does for your body rather than dieting. I so agree with Nomi
