Hi, I'm new and extremely nervous. Don't really know what to expect but here to give it a go! I'm worried about my size, and although I'm very active (just been bought a fit bit for my birthday) and I don't consider what I eat to be massive, I'm struggling to shift weight. I think it's time to stop with excuses and find answers!
New and nervous! : Hi, I'm new and... - Weight Loss Support
New and nervous!
Hello, its awful when you don't get anywhere because even starting to make an effort is hard. If it was easy we would all be how we want to be. Being worried is a start, do you have much to lose? If you just have a bit, try a couple of weeks of counting calories and filling in the weekly NHS sheet.
Why are you nervous?
HI Corasport,
I would also recommend trying the NHS 12 week plan, it is easy to use and a really healthy plan. Great that you've just bought a Fitbit for your Birthday, and hope you enjoy using that.
Here's a link to our Welcome Newbie thread, so please have a read through and do join in with anything you like the look of, in the forum:

Hope you feel less nervous as you settle into things, and good luck!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm nervous because this is all new, I'm a bloke and we don't share things lol! Not like this anyway. I will have a look at this 12 week plan and see how I get on
The 12 week plan is brilliant (if you stick to it!)!
Also check out the my fitnesspal ap which will help you to be more aware of the calories of things.
I never used to think I was eating a lot - but I was simply eating the wrong types of things which were laden with empty calories.
Good luck on the healthy eating front and let us know if the fit bit is helpful...
Welcome Corasport, don't be nervous it is just weight loss and you can just talk about what you are comfortable with. When I first joined, I was the same, but I have really lost all my inhibitions now, LOL.
I love my fitbit - which one did you get? I have the Charge HR and love it. It encourages me to do a lot more exercise than I would do normally and I love looking at all the stats and everything!
How much do you need to lose? I started here with 9 stone to lose and have lost just under 6 of those. I was barely able to walk and was in a lot of pain, but now I am running 3 times a week, cycling and working out a lot at the gym. It can be done!
Hi, I quickly found out it's not always the quantity you eat, it's what you eat, becomes obvious when you start counting the calories. There's load of support on here, everyone's in the same boat so no need o be nervous or shy about it. Good luck!
Already I feel less nervous! Thanks all! I have the new Fitbit blaze, and I love seeing how many steps I'm taking, how many cals I've burnt etc etc. I need to lose about 13 stone to be ideal bmi, but I'm only looking at 5-8 realistically. I truly am a big chap! But I'm active 9-10 hours a day with work, and generally eat 1-2 meals a day. I'll try and upload my last month activity from my blaze and you'll see.
