I start tomorrow too - best of luck to you! You'll do great x
Good morning, you sound just like me - an entire lifetime of dieting and still overweight. I also have four stone to lose. I am happy to be at your side ( metaphorically speaking) if you think it would help
I too have loads to lose and yo yo diet throughout my life, but have a great buddy on here and this helps for sure, so if you feel I can help psychologically, happy to be there too. Good luck though.
Thank you so much for replying. I think this is really going to work for me. Had a good day and feel 'in the zone'!
I have loads to loose too. Lets do it together. Just weighed and I am 18st 5lbs. Let you know how I get on next week
Hi
It is good that you are determined to loose 4 stones..
I recently watched the BBC Horizon program called 'The Right Diet'.
It may be worth looking at this to work out the diet that is most suitable for you.
When I did the test , I was a 70% 'Constant Craver' and 20% 'Feaster' and 10% 'Emotional' so the recommended diet from this programme was Intermittent Dieting.
Luckily, I have been following the 5:2 diet so I tend to look for good filling low calorie meals for my fast days and then eat normally on the other five days. My overall calorie intake for the week is reduced due to the reduced calories on the fast days (Monday and Thursday) and I was able to loose the weight I wanted to and generally been able to maintain that weight since. On other diet regimes I always put the weight back on when I stopped the 'diet' as I didn't really change my 'lifestyle'.
The reason Monday seems to be a good fast day for me is that it was to allows me to deal with any excesses I may have had over the weekend and psychologically gives me a fresh start to motivate myself for the week.
Thank you for that. I did watch the programme and did the test! It turns out 'Surprise Surpise' that I'm an emotional eater. That's why I looked to see if there was any support out there as apparently we do better when we have group support. I'm amazed by this NHS thing and that people have replied. I can't fail now. Very much in the zone at the moment and already feel better mentally. It makes me feel low when I don't feel in control of my eating. I did try the 5:2 diet but I only lasted 3 weeks. But I have friends who find it amazing.
Thank you for your support.
From the program it looks like if you can focus on your feelings and what you would say to your family/friends on achieving your target you will be better able to fight the temptations to comfort eat....
Good luck with your diet. I hope you stay in the zone!
