I would like to thank all you lovely people for your amazing support in helping me to achieve my initial goal of losing 2 stones.

I have now lost 2 stones in 18 weeks, meeting my original goal to lose 2 stones and to be fitter and healthier. Waist from 33 to 28.5 inches and BMI from 30.5 to 25.2. I could not have done this without your support. A huge thank you to moreless, Lowcal, fizzy Liz, Lottolose and all you lovely people who have encouraged me every step of the way.  I'm sorry to have not been able to support you all recently as I have very limited internet access here. I have given my new goal a lot of thought and have decided to try to lose  another stone to 8 stone 12 lbs which will put me in the middle of the healthy BMI range and leave me some space to have an occasional gain but quickly get back to the mid range. Would anyone out there who is maintaining please advise if this is a workable goal?

A huge thank you yet again. Good luck to you all at tomorrow's weigh in. xx

Hi Mimsta-in-nines,

Wow, you have done sooooo well.  Many many Congratulations on losing 2 stones in 18 weeks.  That is incredible!!!  :-)  It's been wonderful having you alongside us all - and it's so lovely that you've made such excellent progress.  I bet you're looking great and feeling fitter and healthier.

Although I am still trying to lose some remaining weight still, I have 'maintained' a loss of about 5 stones for about 2 years now, and so I do count myself as a 'kind of maintainer' - but still straining for the final pounds off.  So I hope I can comment that I do think your goal is achievable - as the middle of the healthy BMI range should be fine - providing you feel good at that weight when you get nearer to it.  You can always re-adjust your goals as and when you want to, but I think it sounds like a workable and feasible plan.  I'm sure some of the others who have achieved their goal weights and are maintaining will comment - I can think of 2bFabnfit  , skinnylizzie , Hidden  , Prin   as a few examples of people who are currently maintaining.  I know there are a few more, but wanted to mention those people as they might pop over and comment!  :-)

Wishing you continued success with your goals.

Lowcal :-)

Thank you so much Lowcal for your encouraging reply.  I think another stone should be achievable but as you say I can adjust again if necessary. Thanks xx

Congrats on your fantastic achievement 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

WOOHOO Mimsta!! WTG you!! What a fantabulous achievement and sooooooooo well deserved! :)

We miss you and can't wait for you to get back to really challenging us with your mega K's :)

I would say, as a never-in-my-life-maintainer, that if you set your sights on another stone, then you will definitely achieve it. You're a girl on a mission and nothing and nobody's going to get in your way :)

Wishing you all the very best with your new goal and looking forward to having the new, super slim you, back here with us :)

Well done on achieveing your goal mainainance is tricky I wanted a healthy BMI  ,I lost a few pounds over but have maintained around 11st for 3 years my body is way better toned than when I originally lost weight and I focus on my wardrobe apart from 2coats nothing over a size 12 mainly 10 and all the big size 8s fit fine, you remember those bulges I never want to get back to those, so I weigh in every week good or bad and my wardrobe still fits - good luck , like alcoholics we are recovering not cured😳

in reply toPrin

That's amazing Prin, I hope I can say the same in 3 years time. I agree about being better toned and am working hard on the exercise front. All the best and thanks again. xx

Congrats Mimsta, I completed my journey at a BMI of 25 originally (10st6ish) but decided earlier this year to lose a further amount just under a stone more, and I did manage to do it. So I'd say anything is possible. You know what to do now. Just stick with it, stay focused, you'll be fine :)

Hi, thanks a lot that sounds like great advice and I do intend to stick with the plan it has become a way of life for me. Thanks again xx

Well done.  The key to maintaining is accountability.  Continue to weigh in.  As Ruth said you can adjust down further either now or later. But take action as soon as you gain above your goal. Originally my goal was 55 to 57 kg. I now aim to be between 53 and 55 and have maintained at that level since October

Sounds like your goals are achievable and realistic.  You will know when you get there if you are happy at that weight or want to set a new goal.  Cheering you on!

Hi 2bFabnfit what a great name. Thanks for your words of encouragement. Well done you on a great maintain.  Thanks xx
