A huge Thank you so much for the welcome I have been given.
I work to be a realistic optimist on a daily basis which works for me, but I can honestly say I am overwhelmed by the friendliness and support, advice and encouragement I have received in the few days I have been on this site.
I hope to be encouraging to others along the way.. There is so much information here and it's all so good!!
I started looking at newbies, then there was a link, then another... It's never ending and very interesting... As all of the reading is about real people and their lives... their tips, their requests, the responses... I am amazed and loving this.
I weighed myself on Tuesday at 11 stones 6 pounds and today I have gained 2 pounds, but I am aware that I have had flu since Sunday, π€§ dosed up and very hydrated!! So not overly concerned or down hearted. The backache, earache and exhaustion has now subsided.. It's just the headache, sneezing and tiredness to move on from.. Getting better daily.
Looking forward to Saturday weigh in and being a "Winning Loser" going forwards.
This is my weight loss campaign and it will take as long as it takes to reach my long term goal of a healthy range BMI.. With lots of happy little goals in-between π
Thank you to everyone on this forum... It's because of each one that posts a note about themselves, or on another's post or makes a comment or hits a like button that makes this so enjoyable.. Its almost addictive!!

Thank you so much JiminyCricket (I've just learnt how to do the @name) At least this addiction is upbuilding and non fattening... I think it's a great distraction when feeling tempted beyond "the I''m not hungry - I'm thirsty next glass of water!!! Well done on your shrinkage.. A goal well reached πππ
I too enjoyed seeing your photograph. Take it easy while you are clearing the flu from your body. Good luck with your weigh-in and I too enjoy this site and find it a good distraction when I'm feeling hungry. All the best.
Not 'almost addictive' - rather 'extremely addictive'!
I am not trying to lose weight anymore, but come here to encourage others and to find support for my quest to maintain my new weight. Nobody else wants to hear about what goes on in my mind about calories

Well said and pleased you are feeling a bit better, lovely smiley photo!
Hi Minniewinny,
I also put on a bit of weight when I had a virus over New Year! I think it was a combination of water retention and the painkillers making my digestive system a bit sluggish (sorry if TMI!), but the weight came off over the next week, slowly but surely. Hope you are feeling a bit better, flu sounds horrible!
I completely agree that this is very addictive. I haven't looked at FB since I joined here :-D. The more I read, the more I want to do. I managed to go for a walk at 8pm last night when the temperature was -3Β°. That definitely wouldn't have been me before I joined this place. I'm terrible at calorie counting and having Indian meals mostly makes it more difficult. I'm controlling portion size and cooking from scratch. Hopefully that will help me not go over the calorie limit.
Hi Minniewinnie thanks so much for your encouragement and to all reading this. I to am new but struggling with want I can and can't eat. I need to lose a good stone plus. Can't do excessive excersise medical reasons. But this morning my hubbie thought I was on fb when I went quite phone in hand then laughed. I am so happy I found this site and all the lovely peeps. ππ
Hi Kazzy17 love your response. Enjoy your journey.. There are some excellent tips in the newbies section on the right of the forum.. Seriously worth a read. Wishing your great success. I have opted for the eat everything I am used to, but smaller portions. It's working so far π
