hi, im looking to put the effort in to see if a stricter more collaborative approach will help with my weight loss journey. I had heard about the nhs resources before but always put it to the back of my mind until now. Im currently 19.12stlbs and know i need to reduce my weight before diabetes comes knocking. Hopefully with everyones help i can. God bless you all on your own journeys. Lets work together!

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS community forum. I hope you'll enjoy being part of this great community. It's a supportive and friendly place. We have a Welcome Newbie post, which moreless has put together, which is worth a read, so here's a link if you've like to see it:
I'd recommend the NHS 12 week plan, and hope you will join in with anything in the forum that you like the look of. We have a regular weekly weigh-in on Mondays, so do check that out too - the latest link is in the Events section (right-hand-side of the homepage about half-way down the page), and the Pinned posts (above that) are also worth a read.
Just wanted to say hi and all the best for the journey ahead. Great you are taking the reins and getting yourself fit. The 12 week plan is excellent and it works (so long as you don't cheat!). Good luck!
Hi, I joined on sun and everyone is very friendly. I'm already thinking differently about my eating. Had a really difficult day at work and I want the comfort that only food can give me ( or so I believe!) but I've come onto here and in a minute I'm going to have a cheese and marmite toastie, not go to my dealer ( the corner shop) and buy 3 choc bars, full fat coke, and 2 bags of crisps. Yay, see it's working!
I went to a eating disorders group for 24 sessions and it was fab. It was similar to this, but in a clinic. The weight began to come off, but crept back on without the support, along with the negative self doubt. I'm hopeful the weight loss will start again - for all of us. Best wishes, 😉
Besides feeling good about your weight going down, you feel amazing about getting in control. I now read things on here in an evening instead of eating rubbish. This is my 3rd week and no cheat days, I could not have said that in the past.
Hi cocopenguin I started out at 19 stone before realising I had to do something. Paid a lot of money to Weight Watchers over the years and lost 3 stone, but things started to slip and the weight started to creep back on. I've been a member of the forum now for 7 weeks and am now following the 12 week plan as advertised by NHS Choices, along with the majority of the forum users.
I've had a few 'naughty' moments, but then that's life! However, to date I've managed to lose 12lbs in 6/7 weeks and free of charge too! I have to thank the other forum users for their support and advice. There's no doubt that you can benefit too.
