Hi Buffin,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum.  Great that you're staring the NhS 12 week programme - and I wanted to give you some links that might be helpful - I know you're feeling both excited and also fearful, so hopefully the links will help a little with the latter!

The first is a link to our Welcome Newbie thread, which moreless  has put together:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

The second link is incase you might be interested in a weekly weigh-in group - just have a read and see what you think, and if you fancy joining in, then please do - you'd be very welcome!

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh....

Wishing you a great first week!

Lowcal :-)

Welcome!! :) :)

Have no fear! ;) Go for what you want and you will get it :) :)

Don't give up, it will only make you feel bad about yourself :(

Best of luck!! :) <3

I started today too. i am at the end of 6 week viral infection, and have been so innactive lately, but because i knew i was starting today, i stuffed my face yesterday to get rid of chocolate etc. and i was out early for a walk along the canal, wind blowing, it was lovely and made me feel so good.

I have actually taken the long mirror off the hall wall to put in my bathroom, so when i get dressed, take a shower, i can see how big i have become, that is an incentive. That is what prompted me to do something. i have also been looking at fotos of me 6 years ago when i was an ok weight, to spur me on, but it is health that is getting to me, colds stay with me longer now, and this infection has too, and i think it is because i am overweight, my body cannot fight illness when it has to work so hard to do normal daily things. So, no fear, take it one day at a time, and if you blip, put it behind you and carry on regardless. good luck, see you next week.

If it's any consolation, I did the first walk/run in week 2 and yes, it nearly killed me too!! The worst bit was tripping off a kerb, cutting my knee and ripping my trousers - not a happy bunny.... :-)
