1st day- hungry! :-(: Hey all. Day 1 for... - Weight Loss Support
1st day- hungry! :-(
Hi penguin77 welcome to this really helpful and encouraging site. I am on week 6 of the
'Losing weight getting started' guide. It really works, lots of ideas and no fads and lots of
encouragement from all the bloggers. I seem to be losing 1lb every 10 days which I'm
happy with. Stick to the 1400 cals it suggests and break it down to so many cals per meal and save 100 or 200 cals for a treat so that you don't feel too deprived try and make it a healthy treat though!! Best of luck ali-may
Thanks, Ali-may. I actually came out at just under 1300cals today and did think of having 1 little extra but didn't! Where I had less at breakfast, I had slightly more at dinner. Guessing this is common?! Does look a fab, sensible diet, just hope my willpower sticks! Ps, big congrats on how well you're doing at halfway- do you feel better for it?
Hi penguin77, yes I do feel and look a lot better!! I seem to be losing inches faster than weight which I like, it's a great feeling zipping up jeans etc without a struggle. If I weigh myself too often I get disheartened that maybe I've been really 'good' and the scales say I have stayed the same or even gone up. It took me about 4 weeks to get into the swing of things, I keep a note book to record all I eat and drink and I'm really enjoying learning about whats good for me. And not just eating because its there.
Hey, if you are used to eating a lot more than the calories your on now then you will feel a little hungry in the begining, your tummy is saying where is all the other food I used to get. But the good news is it will only take a couple of weeks for it to get used to it, if you have had your calorie allowance try filling up with a glass of water or herbal tea just to ease the rumbles.....make sure your drinking enough as well as we often mistake de hydration for hunger . Good luck
Well done Penguin77 for joining this wonderful site,
It has really kept me focused. I joined on 7th January 2013 I'm 5ft 1in tall 53 years old and weighed 11st 4lbs and hadn't done any exercise of four years.
Today I weigh 9st 12lbs,( I'm still in the overweight bracket but hopefully not for much longer). and am a member of our local gym and attend four mornings a week.
I found the first few days were very difficult, and always find a hot drink works when feeling hungry.
Take it easy Penguin77. When we go on a diet, this is usually for a quite long time. Too drastic changes will induce binges. Allow yourself to eat a little bit of what you like once a week as a reward for being good for six days before!
Find the diet that suits you rather than trying to fit to the diet - this si where you will find commitment!
