Hi all, I've been doing lots of walking the past few weeks and it's obviously made me really tired (aching legs etc) is it ok to have a 'day off'? I'd stick to my calorie allowance but not go for a walk.

30mins 5 times a week sounds like two days off each week to me! Wish I could reach that level.
Hello AminaJ
Interesting thread 😊 NHS Advice is 30 min 5 times a week minimum, so, yes, a 'day off' is fine 😊 I prefer to do something everyday however, even if it's a gentle activity. What do other people think?
I personally have a couple of days off and aim to do something Monday to Friday but we are each different and I have health issues that can potentially make exercise difficult. I know I can overdo it easily and make myself worse. You have to find what works for you. You shouldn't exercise with an injury either. Be flexible and listen to your body, if it says rest then rest if you feel energetic and aren't injured do something!
Maybe you do this already but if not here are three things that will help with the aches
Try a brief warm up for example shoulder and neck rolls, some funny walks and then shaking feet, legs, wrists, when setting out on the walks.
Try 5 minutes of very very gentle stretching ( at a minimum calf, hamstring, inner thighs and quads) after the walk.
One or even two days off completely every week. This doesn't mean sofa...
