It's the weekend, and I've just had a really tasty lunch - Jacket potato with Tuna Mayo, Cheese and onions. It was quite calorific, but it has really filled me up, and I feel very satisfied. I worked out the calorie count via Myfitnesspal, and it was as follows:
Jacket potato - 208 calories
Butter (20g) - 84 calories
Tuna (140g) - 140 calories
Mayonnaise (1 tbsp) - 90 calories
Cheese (2 ounces) - 200 calories
Onions cooked in olive oil - 56 calories
Total calories = 778.

I am wondering what you had for your Sunday lunch? A traditional roast or something different??? Do share if you want to. I'd love to hear what you had today.

I was very untraditional & had a 6 inch turkey & ham salad subway. Couldn't resist an oatmeal raisin cookie. Total 469 cals for the both so not too bad. Chicken & loads of veg planned for dinner 😋
I like the sound of your lunch and your dinner tonight as well. I'm having a meal with family tonight, so am anticipating eating a bit too much today - not great the day before the weigh-in, but hopefully it won't be too bad.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Enjoy your lovely dinner tonight.
roast lamb , fennel dauphinois, veg etc delicious - but only after rangers finished playing footie. I am also heavily into tracking Brighton marathoners - who started life as C25ker's- v exciting. i am pom pom waving like crazy
I know what you mean. As well as this being the weekend of my husbands birthday with celebrations lasting the whole weekend (with lots of home baking ) I've met up with friends and had 2 lunches provided on training days. I lost total control of the calorie monitoring.
I do two versions. One is just fennel , onion parmesan and double cream. (Mitch Tonks) the other is Mary Berry's fennel and potato. Both very delicious
Hope you're having a lovely weekend, and thanks for your nice comments!

Hi Zest . I had carrot soup and crispbreads with light soft cheese - 200 calories for lunch and it will be chicken and sweet potato curry tonight. The carrot soup has red chilli in and quite a kick!
I love homemade soups - your carrot soup with the red chilli in it sounds really really tasty! I love spicy food, and chilli can get your metabolism going - good choice! Hope you enjoy your Sweet potato Curry tonight - that sounds really delicious too.
Your 5 mile walk through the Cheddar Gorge sounds really lovely. You are having a very interesting lunch choice - didn't anticipate that as a lunch idea...! I hope you will share a picture, if they do turn out pretty - which I'm guessing they will...!!! I'd never had thought of mixing rhubarb with strawberries. I would fancy some grated ginger in with that - I always associate rhubarb with ginger for some reason... Not quite sure why - maybe I had a rhubarb crumble once with ginger in the crumble topping. It tasted really good!
Hope you have a lovey afternoon and enjoy the remainder of Sunday.
I picked up rhubarb and strawberries at waitrose earlier (on offer 3 for 2) and was clueless as to what to do with that amount of strawberries.
Found a recipe online using fresh rhubarb and strawberry preserve, so I replaced the preserve with fresh berries. Still stewing away but smells amazing right now - I grated some orange zest in with the fruit... 😊
Hi Lowcal, that looks really good, might have something similar for dinner I just finished a 45 min aerobic class & about to have lunch: wholemeal toast with mashed avocado & chicken slices. One of my faves & really healthy & filling. Have a good sunday everyone x
Great to see you! Thanks for commenting on my lunch, and glad it's inspired you to have something similar for dinner. It was really delicious.
Well done on doing your 45 minute aerobic class, and your lunch sounds absolutely delicious! I really like avocado, and pairing it with chicken slices sounds an excellent combination. I love wholemeal toast too - I like your choice of lunch very much! Like you say, really healthy and filling.
Me too, I also have some avocados in the fridge - must use them up next week....!
I was starving! No proper breakfast as went to a Hiit class then just had a snack. So.... two (small) slices brown sourdough, bacon and avocado with a bit of light philadelphia (my new butter) - I calculated 559. Will see how I go and hopefully keep evening meal down. Feel very satisfied.
Well done for doing your Hiit class, that is an energetic class to do. I don't know how you did that without a proper breakfast though - I would struggle to do anything without my breakfast, but I know we're all different!
Your meal sounds very tasty - I am looking forward to trying to make some homemade sourdough sometime soon, as I've got a recipe for one and fancy trying it out. Mmmm, avocado - I do like that! Ahhh, you're having light Philadelphia as your new butter - what a creative idea! I bet it's delicious in combination with the other ingredients you mentioned.
Glad you're feeling satisfied, and hope you enjoy the remainder of Sunday!
Your lunch sounded really yummy! As I'm just starting my quest to lose 5-7 kgs I fear a few too many calories for me for now! Maybe, once in a while, when I'm about half way to the goal.
I had a cheese omelette with carrots, green beans & peas with some new stuff I picked up from Aldi, it's a super food mix made up of soya beans, peppers, giant couscous, barley, carrots & pomegranate seeds. It was very nice. Having a good weekend, staying within calorie target & hoping it shows on the scales tomorrow
I really like Cheese omelette, and you put some great vegetables into the omelette - lovely! That super food mix sounds really interesting. Wow, full of great ingredients. It sounds really nice.
Glad you're having a good weekend and good luck for the weigh-in tomorrow!
All this yummy food, a work day for me, b'fast poached egg on toast, handful of grapes, brown roll ( well small one ) with emmental and red onion, fruit pot from tesco, dinner lasagne, slowcooker, tub of cherry tomatoes and an Aldi mini Choc bar.
Preheat slow cooker for 10mins on high, mix mince 200g (raw) with tomatoes, purée and herbs, layer with lasagne sheets, make up cheese sauce ( I used 30g strong cheddar to 250 mls of white sauce),layer up and cook for 2 hrs.
Your breakfast today is one of my absolute favourite breakfast ideas - I love poached eggs! I had poached eggs on wholegrain toast yesterday morning, it was really good!
You've had some lovely meals today. Cherry tomatoes are tasty aren't they.
Hope you've enjoyed your weekend, even though it was a work day for you today.
Wish I'd had a lunch like yours lowcal. After a few too many drinks last night I had a McDonald's!!!!afraid to check the calories, not looking forward to tomorrow weigh in! Anyway back on track tomorrow
To be honest, I'm not looking forward to the weigh-in tomorrow either, as my evening meal was quite 'over the top' - i.e. extremely calorific, as it involved some indulgent celebratory stuff... I can't even admit to what I had for the evening meal... I'm going to go and sleep it all off in a minute...!
Like you say, 'back on track' tomorrow - good luck for the weigh-in!
lol, I think you were talking to Greeny then, but I assumed it was me. I felt really tired after eating Birthday cake yesterday - it was really sugary and sent me into a haze...!
Yes that is what refined food does , doesn't it! I have been drinking more water, generally fairly busy as had hol from work but lots of tasks to do instead. I have had more veg in evenings with meal. No prob having 5 a day anyway as I often have various berries and plain yogurt with a bit of muesli sprinkled over the some skim milk on it as an elevenses or snack.I am not eating soo much between meals. If I do its half fat digestive but not so much, or a slice w/m toast and banana with tra or coffee if I really need something. I've made plain yog/berries/ muesli sprinkle, plus wee bit salmon and salad with left over small cold potato cut up and drizzled with lemon juice and lo cal salad dressing in boxes to take to work tomorrow. I keep thinking I reall have run out of chances, I am 3 stone over weigh. Healthy enough so far but that would soon catch up on me, but I have to lose weight for energy levels, clothes to look better on me etc. at present. Hope every one is getting on ok. I stayed the same weight for days but I amdefinitely changing my habits. My meals were usually healthy and fine, but my tendency to snack with extras in between was what was keeping me fat. It doesn't happen overnight but I don't want to give up.
Your meal sounds really great - I hope you enjoyed it. Great that you made your gravy using the cooking water from the veg - that's a great way to make gravy.
After a two mile walk this am, I came home to an indulgent caramel coffee with cream (158 cals), then three Crackerbread topped with low fat cottage cheese and pineapple (194 cals). Tonight's meal was half a can of low sugar and salt baked beans with a fried egg (Frylight) and four thin grilled sausages (483 cals), finished with a sugar free blackcurrent jelly. Being very good today because of tomorrow's weigh in 😀😀 going out tomorrow night so saving calories for that. Have to make up for last weekend, was naughty then 😄 and as a result stayed the same weight.
Great that you had a 2 mile walk this morning, and I hope you enjoyed your indulgent Caramel coffee with cream and your crackerbread meal.
Your evening meal sounds tasty. Well done for having a good day in preparation for tomorrow's weigh-in, and good luck - hope you'll have a good result on the scales. Nice that you've going out tomorrow night, and hope you'll enjoy that. Remember that maintaining is better than gaining, so last weekend didn't scupper your progress at all.
Catch up with you tomorrow, I'm going to sleep now! Night night.
