Easter weekend is here and I started in an had a few Easter eggs. That's how It starts and then I am in a full blown state of overeating of sugar. It's going to be harder at my sister's on Sunday for dinner full of baked goods and chocolate Honestly I do know where to start to say "no" Please help.

Hello Wadestreet. You sound like you're having a torrid time. I appreciate how difficult it is and still find times myself when I don't keep to plan.

Can I ask how you monitor your calorie intake? Before you eat anything do you know how many calories it is and how many daily calories it will leave you with once you've eaten it? If I were to eat some Easter egg I would first weigh out a bit of chocolate into a bowl. The only thing that has kept me on track has been to ruthlessly know about every bit of food and drink before I consume it. (It's not as tedious as it sounds, it's just become a part of my life.)

Are you keeping up your intake of water? A lot of my urges to eat are nullified by a pint or two of water and if necessary followed by a bit of fruit.

Have you told your sister what your new eating regime is, so that she understands what you'll be eating before you go and see her? Maybe try writing down beforehand what food you'll allow yourself once there.

Have you tried distractions such as getting out of the house for a walk when you feel an urge?

And at the risk of sounding like Attila the Hun, it would probably be best to not have items like Easter eggs in the house and make sure you have lots of healthy substitutes (that you enjoy).

Maybe try posting here when you've got an urge to eat but before you actually do.

Wishing you all the best.

No I do not count calories but I should count the calories in the chocolate before I consume it this weekend. And getting me see if I like counting. I drink 4 liters of water everyday.

4 liters of water is really good going and a nice tick off the list.

I wish you all the best at your sister's today. We shouldn't be too hard on ourselves and I personally believe it's ok to have the odd day when we have a bit more than our allowance but at the same time keep it to a 'sensible' level. Planning is key.

Your intake in good! I myself struggle with the sweets it really upsetting This weekend I made an Easter Basket for a few kids and prior to delivery I ate waay more than should. Thankfully I delivered it to the kids. It's really difficult to stay on track we have to allow slack once in a while. Last night I eat ice cream like I have a hole in my mind!!! I am suppose to lose 20/lbs month of March - April I think I've lost 3/lbs shame on me. I am just like you struggling to keep away. Fruits help as does nuts, I use to do my nails to keep me busy maybe, I'll try that again. Its Monday a new week I have to do better my life depends on it! Bestnof luck you are not alone.

Hi, I always seem to end up with loads of eggs despite saying please don't buy me any, so I either freeze them in sections and have as a treat or last year my work was collecting eggs for the local children's hospital they got most of mine 😆

My sister is the same as skinny as a rake, could eat for England and doesn't comprehend others can't, a few months ago I sat her down and had a good heart to heart with her, our next invite was to a beautifully prepared salad especially for me 😍 so maybe a good chat would help her see your dilemma 😯

You could make sure you have an idea on how many calories are in certain foods in advance and try and keep on track, arrange a energetic egg hunt for the kids and/or adults, suggest a walk after dinner, offer to wash up and skip pudding (you can't possibly eat with wet hands😜)

What ever you decide to do remember it's a journey with bumps along the way, but you are a beautiful person who can achieve anything you put your mind to. Good luck and have a wonderful weekend
