If there was an answer to that I would market it.  The only safe and sensible way to lose weight is to eat small healthy meals, cut out crap and increase exercise

Good advise already posted. Fill up on above ground veg, eat fish, red meat too.  Limit fruit, but avoid all simple carbs like the plague and don't eat anything after 7pm.  I lost a stone in under 4 weeks that way, but its not sustainable in the long term.  If you want to lose 10kg fast its the only way, its not such a small amount 22lb  If you are reasonably healthy, younger than me by at least 10 years (I am 53, metabolic rate slows down post meno and the older you get) you could do it in 2 months, no problem.

Its not easy especially if you are close to healthy weight anyway.  Check your BMI, weigh in on monday, good luck :)

How much weight do you want to lose and how quickly do you want to lose it?

Well, you have been given some excellent advise, you should be able to shift the 5 stones by the end of the year IF you are serious and follow the guidelines. Remember, this is not a diet it is a lifestyle change for you so if you really want to shift the weight then measure yourself today and join the weigh in tomorrow. Good luck:-) John

A low càlorie diet cutting out as much high carb food as possible. If you get your carbs from fruit and veg only that should help. Plenty of water and as much exercise as you can manage. If you have any health issues you should see your doctor before starting such a drastic diet. Is there a reason why you need to lose weight quickly because it is much more likely to stay off if you do a sensible diet and lose the weight more gradually? Also dieting for a longer period helps you rethink your eating habits and make changes for life and keep weight off. Good luck.

Hi Missnadinevennard,

Welcome to the forum.  As this is the Weight Loss NHS community forum, most of us are following the NHS 12 week plan, which advocates a healthy balanced diet, and essentially it isn't a route to 'quick weight loss' it is more slow and steady - people usually lose more in the first week, and then level out to 1 to 2 pounds per week, and some weeks the scales stick altogether, but essentially it's healthy and sustainable for life - as it's about eating healthily and lifestyle choices.

There's a lot of information in our Welcome Newbie post, which moreless  has put together:

We have a weekly Monday weigh-in group, if you like the idea of a weekly group weigh-in.  Look in the Events section (middle right-hand-side of homepage) if you would like to read the latest thread, but the session will be starting from 6.30am tomorrow and you can weigh-in anytime on Monday - even into the evening.   So do join us, if you'd like to participate in that.

Wishing you success with your goals.

Lowcal :-)

Hi,

Although it's tempting to lose weight really fast you have to be careful. When you have a lot of weight to lose and it comes of too quickly you can be left with excess skin. I am a nurse and I used to see people with excess skin on a regular basis. Most had lost weight through a popular meal replacement programme or gastric banding.  You can't get skin removal surgery on the NHS anymore so it's worth losing the weight sensibly - around 2lbs a week. Best Wishes xxx

If you want it to stay off you need to lose 1-2lbs per week. Otherwise it will just go back on. Don't think about it just take a day at a time. Good luck x
