Fed up of carrying extra weight
Hi Mummymorey,
Welcome to the forum. How about reading through our 'Welcome Newbie' thread - which a lovely member called Moreless has put together:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
There are lots of helpful suggestions and tips in that thread, and it also highlights some of the Challenges and Events that take place here in the forum - e.g. the Monday group weigh-in sessions - which you would be very welcome to join in - including any of the other things you're might find interesting and helpful.
This is a friendly and supportive forum, and I really hope you'll enjoy being part of the community and good luck with your goal to achieve size 10 again.
I would definitely recommend the NHS 12 week plan as a good structure to follow. But I would also suggest using an app like Myfitnesspal alongside to enable you to keep track of your food and drink intake and exercise etc.
Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
In addition to Lowcal's fantastic advice, try out some completely new sports or activities -like tango classes or football. If you find something that you really like you will lose the little bit of flab a bit easier, you'll stay toned and you will feel much better about your body shape. Good luck!
Hi - I have exactly the same problem. I was very thin in my early 20s and the weight has crept on year by year. My best advice for you would be to consider why you have put on weight. Mine is symptomatic of having a very stressful job and some illnesses with family members. My weight was showing me that I had stopped taking care of myself.
So, once I had acknowledged it my next step was to be determined that I would not stay like this. I have been reasonably successful over the past few months and am back into my size 10 clothes. I still have a lot more to go as I don't feel comfortable in my body but checking in every few days reminds me that I am on the right track!
Good luck!
Unfortunately we're all different, but one thing that I like is a simple calorie counting diary app, shocking how many hidden calories we consume, Im also a size 12-14 but being 4ft11, I am now an odd shape which a hate. I wish you all the best for your journey to regain the figure you want.
