Hi Rukhsana81,
I just replied to you in the other thread, but will copy and paste my reply again here:
Welcome to the site.
Firstly, I would recommend the NHS 12 week plan as a good structure for losing weight, and many of us use an app like Myfitnesspal alongside it, to help with the logging of food and drink intake. Here's a direct link to the 12 week downloadable pages, if you'd like to take a look:
Also, Moreless (a member of our forum who is really lovely) has compiled a 'Welcome Newbie' pack, that you also might like to read through:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
The pack highlights some of the things that are around in the forum - it's really interesting to read through.
If you'd like to join in the Monday group weigh-in, you'd be very welcome - you can see a link to that thread in the 'Events' section - which is situated to the right-hand-side of the homepage. Let me know if you can't find it, but I think it is easily seen, if you know where to look for it!
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Lowcal
Lowcal,
Can the newbie / welcome thread be made as a pinned post or put in a prominent place on the Weight Loss NHS community homepage? Just a thought.
hello low cal
I tried to join Monday but cannot,
how can I join it pkease
Hi Rukhsana81,
The next Monday group weigh-in thread will be posted on Monday 15th February 2016, so you can either look out for the post to be posted by myself (Lowcal) early in the morning, or if you click on 'follow' and my name, then you would be automatically notified when I post it. As soon as it is posted, I will also place it in the 'Events' section on the homepage so that you can see it easily - the Events section is on the top right-hand-side of the homepage.
Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
thank
Dear Rukhsana
Welcome. I'm 5'6 too and I was 93kg in July, 89kg in September 2015 when I started the 12 week programme. I would strongly recommend the programme to you because I lost 10kg in 12 weeks, and it totally changed my life. After 5 weeks I was already out of the obese zone. Then I have had to change my underwear, my trousers, even adjust my watch at the watchmaker, and people were hardly recognising me in the streets! Now I have lost 16kg and I need to lose 3-5 more kgs to be in the healthy zone of my bmi. I did the couch to 5k programme too and I am so much more fitter thanks to it. I have already started to cycle (yes sounds crazy I know) but I am thoroughly enjoying it and I do at least 2 to 3 sessions a week, outside, at 7am in the morning so that no one can see me and I have the park all to myself!
Say to yourself that you can do it simply because so many before you have. Then set yourself conservative, achievable goals, like losing no more than 1 or 2 pounds a week. Keep at it and never give up after one or two days where you ate more. Because it will happen and in the long run it will actually have only a minimal impact. And then enjoy seeing the pounds shifting!!! Looking forward to get updates from you :). If I can do it so can you!!! Way to go Rukhsana!!!
