Hi Lessoffme,
Wishing you a very warm welcome to this forum, and hope you'll enjoy doing the NHS 12 week plan.
One of our members (Moreless) has put together a Welcome Newbie pack, which you might like to read through:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
It highlights some of the things that people enjoy about the forum, and has many contributions from people within the forum.
You'd be very welcome to join in our Monday group weigh-in sessions if you'd like to be part of something like that - you can see the latest Monday group thread in the 'Events' section (which is located on the top right-hand-side of the homepage).
Hope to see you around and about in the forum, and hope you enjoy being part of the community here.

Keeping a food journal helps a lot. It makes you think and be mindful of what you eat. Over a period of time, this habit usually results in healthier eating choices. A food journal along with calorie counting through a free app such as the MyFitnessPal will help you a lot in your endeavour to lose weight. For example, after I started using MFP, I have completely eliminated drinking cola/soda as it has too many calories.
Over the years, I have lost close to 17kg and kept it off. I still have another 14 kg to lose. You too can lose weight!
As long as you follow it, it will. I find buying myself a couple of extra treat fruits helps when I'm looking for something sweeter. But you will soon find a lot of these extra little tricks to help you.
