hi :) so i;ve tried the carbs thing- that helped a little bit but not for long- then i tried the idea of easting within a specific window which is impossible with my job but i do on days off :)

the calories one I haven't tried however- I eat between 1250-1300 calories a day and have done for the last 12 weeks :) what would people suggest upping to?

Thanks

HI Wood05,

I would suggest using the NHS Calculator to give you the range of recommended calories to have. It works it out by using data on your height, weight and activity levels. Let me know if you need the link to the right page of the NHS site, if you want to access it, but have any difficulty.

Lowcal :-)

Google calorie cycling?

Like Concerned mentioned, it will reduce your metabolism becoming used to the same calories.

I agree with Lowcal, use the NHS bmi calculator to work out your calorie allowance, if if is too low over a long time, your body will go into starvation mode and hang on to everything it's got.

Anyway, work out your calories, times them by 7 for the weekly allowance, then have one 'normal' day, followed by a slightly 'lower' day, then even 'lower', then 'high', then 'less 'high',....

Can't quite remember which way and there are several different ways.

But the basic idea is that you stick to your same weekly calories but vary your daily intake so your body doesn't get used to it.

It is important though that you work out your proper calorie need first.

coachcalorie.com/calorie-cy...

The above is one page where it explains more and there you have 2 high days a week.

Anyway, have a google and read different pages, it might help?

Years ago when trying to lose baby weight I did this by accident just so I didn't get bored, I had Saturday "off" from calorie counting, didn't go mad but just ate sensible portions and didn't worry about weighing things and had a glass of wine with my tea. Weight came off fairly easily but I got pregnant again before I got to goal! ☀️
