hi June, To be within touching distance of your target weight says to me that you already know what to do, from a nutrition/exercise point of view, to lose the last ten pounds or so. What you seem to need is some incentive to get you to do it? You have your "excuses" as you mentioned, so you also know what made you stall. Do you have anything to look forward to to give you the determination to get back on track? I need to lose much more weight and losing 1-2lbs a week at this early stage is relatively easy, once I get to within half a stone of my target I would think the rate of weight loss would slow down to maybe 1-2lbs per month? Good luck !
There's something going on, I maintained at 137 - 139 pounds for the previous eight months, even over Christmas, yet in the past 3 weeks Ive gone up to 141 .... strange but true. One of my MFP pals in the USA has had the same, and he blames global warming ..ππππ
Weird mine Gary's with hormonal bloating, dreaded menopause, now taking maca root, 4000mg a day, the past 10 days so far so good, resets the hormones, well I hope?!
It's the result of Christmas and what often feels like a very drab and long month, January. What you did last week didn't work. So any change is worth trying to make you look at it fresh. So your idea of redoing week 1 is a good one, as is the idea of having extra for 2 days. I was the same as you, really struggling and putting lost lbs back on. What has helped me stick to it this week is turning the heat up 2 degrees. Being cold always makes me feel miserable. I also put on an extra layer head to foot. I then doubled my low fat protein portions as I have always gone for very small portions when eating successfully. I have probably more than doubled my low starch veg intake. I tried to add an extra veg or fruit to every plate. I also added an extra course of veg soup or a big salad to dinner and sometimes lunch as well. And have had a fruit heavy dessert every night as well as my fruit snacks during the day. Haven't been tempted to snack on high sugar or fat foods this week. So back on plan. Still have to see what happens at the scales though. I have always found those last few lbs near to goal are the hardest to shift. Do you think the fact that they are the oldest ones makes them difficult to lose? Only joking but it does feel like that sometimes.
