Weigh in this week and have lost a 1/2 Ib. Few weeks before Xmas I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and started medication, I know this will affect my weight loss so I am not expecting more. π
I still feel really tired but I am loving the 80 day challange and it's really helping me to stay active and challange myself when sometimes it would be easier to not !! So a huge thanks to you allπ
I am out tonight but have pledged to Dave1961 that I'll stay within my cals, it's so easy to go 'easy' when out socially !!
Well done for your weight loss. On the positive side at least your underactive thyroid has been discovered and the medication should help you feel well. I know from my mum and sister that an underactive thyroid can really drag you down! When your medication is settled it might actually help you lose weight. Best wishes.
Congratulations on losing half a pound this week, and I hope you enjoy your meal out tonight. The Around the World Challenge is so motivating isn't it - and also Dave1961's daily pledge challenge too - good luck with achieving your pledge for today. Hopefully you'll find some great menu choices and will be within your calorie allowance. Enjoy your meal, and have a great weekend.
Hi flossie well done on losing 1/2 lb this week and for keeping active more with the 80 day challenge which I am finding truly motivating as well. I agree with you that it is so easy to go easy when out socializing and that's why when I go out I don't tend to worry to much and just follow that day with a lower calorie day. I don't do much like that often so when it does happen I help myself LOL
Have a great evening out tonight my lovely and a lovely weekend
To be honest floss I didn't even think about that. Don't go out anymore so if I were to do something it would be at home. We will see what happens with that thanks for reminding me hun x
Me too - unde-ractive thyroid about 18months ago. Medication has improved my life - not so dreadfully tired. However, don't expect it to "help" your weight loss - hasn't helped me! I do lose weight at about 2lb per week (start weight 13stone height 5.6) but I do have to work at it! Eating lots of fruit and veg - am a vegetarian - so quorn and eggs are my staple. And it does help that my husband is a great cook and makes mealtimes very special. Have cut down on carbs and fats and try to brisk walk in my lunch hours from work. When you think that to put weight on - so easy!!! Takes a bit of effort to take it off!!! Also doing Dry January and feeling good. Good luck.
Yesterday I did a bit of research via the Internet re diet/ exercise with thyroid issues and I have decided on a similar approach to you.
I do favour carbs and in the past have limited them but I soon go back to them! but now realise I need to be more mindful re carbs and increase my protein.
I am not a vegetarian but don't eat a lot of meat, I've made a quorn chilli and looking to be a bit more adventurous!!
Struggling with the fatigue but determined not to give in to itπ
I have a review with GP next week and meds may need adjusting but we'll see, I don't want to use it as an excuse.I feel I need to find ways to work with it and get these remaining pesky pounds off for goodπ
Bless you Flossie x x yes I thought the weight would fall off me. Ha ha . Got that wrong but it is going. Worst carbs for me is bread π. Don't do chocolate but love cheese and have to eat once in a while no more than a match box piece though. Try also not to sit for longer than 20 mins at a time. Just get up and walk around the room will help. Go girl π§ x
