Lol, just showered and weighed myself. I put on a couple of pounds but ate around three pounds of stew. Yes, very full now and very content. I shall worry about the weight another time :)

PS I thought I ate a lot, but my wife ate the same plus two mini batons :D :D

What you like Tewson :-) I couldn't bring myself to weigh in after eating all of that.

Your both content tonight then I see, have a lovely and relaxing evening.

What's for dinner tomorrow then Tewson ??

in reply totrafford1

Probably large gammon steaks with pineapple, grilled tomatoes, peas and mash.

umm that sounds nice I love gammon and that combo really sounds lovely ;-)

It looks really sunny too, because I place the rings of pineapple on the gammon with half a tomato in the center of each. They look like sunny daffodils. I love a bit of colour when it's dull outside.

wholeheartedly agree.

Annoyingly, she's a size ten and at 5'9" if anything, I would say she's a little underweight. I put it down to her being a little hyperactive and a fidget. :)

That looks very tasty just need to get active this morning. Speed up metabolism it will soon be back on track. The only problem with gammon I find is that if it is at all salty that makes you take in water to keep salt in blood at right concentration and , which also is reason it gives us high blood pressure, so I would have something less salty and weigh first thing tomorrow morning, lots of green veg they act as diuretic so might counteract last nights lovely stew! I'm off on a fast walk, as even after no sins at party my weight went up quarter pound this morning how depressing is that after no chocs desserts wine or anything nice! Sometimes its hard to win. Have a good day

in reply toskinnylizzie

You are so right, the gammon is very salty, which is why I add the pineapple, that does not make it healthy though and I have to watch my salt intake. On starting the 12 plan, I ceased to use any salt in my cooking or on my food, along with butter and sugar. We only have the gammon one a fortnight or so for the health reasons.

I had a good lie in this morning and woke up to an empty house, as OH is out doing shopping. As I had my first morning coffee, I thought to myself, "actually I'm still not hungry", so we may end up having something quite light today and leave the gammon in the fridge. :)

lizzie, lizzie, lizzie, don't worry about the scales! You know we should only really be weighing weekly and even then, I would say the monthly figures show a far better picture of what's happening and the direction our weight is going in. It takes more than a few hours for chocolate to go from mouth to hips anyway. :)

Say this little prayer and all will be well :D

I Like To Bake

by Vivien Wade

Lord, you know I like to bake,

That velvety rich chocolate cake,

Covered with icing, I never stop

Until chocolate curls adorn the top.

Lord, you know I like to bake,

Custard slices and biscuits make,

With fruit, nuts and choc. chips,

Though they all linger on my hips

Lord, you know I like to bake,

(I say it's for my family's sake),

Apple pies and cheesecake too,

And dumplings in the Irish stew.

Lord, you know I like to bake,

But I need to curb my intake,

Pavlova, a delicious sugary fluff,

I never seem to have enough.

Lord, you know I like to bake,

But cholesterol pills I now take,

These words I must never utter,

"Please pass me the cream and butter"

Lord, a special favour I shall ask,

It would only be a simple task,

You who changed water into wine,

Dissolve those calories when I dine!
