1STONE GONE

Hi all, well weighed on saturday and lost 2pounds. Really pleased as I have only lost 11b last week and11b the other week.. I did up my exercise so I think that might have done the trick. I have now lost a stone & feel tons better. I wanted to lose 2 stone before my daughters wedding in June. The thing is I tried on my wedding outfit which I bought last september as it was just what I was looking for, paid the earth for it but hey!!! It fits perfectly now, as I remember last September it was a close fit & knew I couldn't put any weight on.........If I lose another stone which is what I want, my perfect outfit won't be perfect . So now what do I do?? Any suggestions please.

Hi Fruitspangle,

Congratulations on your weight loss to date. I know your Wedding outfit fits you perfectly now, and that you still hope to lose another stone - which would mean it wouldn't fit as well - I guess it depends on how much you want to lose that weight - because if you do decide to go ahead and lose it, then maybe you could arrange to have the outfit taken in by an experienced tailor? That might be the solution?

Alternatively you could look to buying another outfit, but I realise you have your heart set on the current one, and buying another would mean extra expense that may not be an option depending on available budget etc.

I realise having a tailor to re-fit the outfit would also be an expense, but hopefully not as much as buying a totallly new outfit.

Let us know what you decide to do, and I hope you find a suitable solution to your dilemma that you feel good about.

Lowcal :-)

Thanks for the advice. I really do want to lose another stone so decided to go ahead. The bridesmaid dresses have to have alterations. I just didn't think about mine being altered . So the tailor can alter mine should it be absolutely necessary. I want that feel good feeling on the day & that feeling a million dollar look. So I guess thats the answer. 5 bridesmaids & 1 Brides Mother relying on the Tailor in 13 weeks. Haha!!

It's good to have that feel-good factor on the day, and you will be a beautiful slim Bride's Mother on the day. :-)

Tailors are great!

Well done for losing that first stone fruitspangle, that's amazing! :)

I did exactly what Lowcal has suggested. I lost weight after I'd bought my outfit for my daughter's wedding and went to a professional dressmaker and had it taken in. It looked perfect on the day and it wasn't obvious at all that it had been altered. It wasn't expensive either, nothing like the cost of buying a new outfit :)

I personally would go for the other stone, because no outfit is going to make you feel as good as that! :)

Thanks moreless, I have decided to keep going especially after reading your notes. Might need a new wardrobe with this weight loss......yeah!!

Good for you fruitspangle, I'm sure you won't regret it :)

I'm getting rid of clothes on a daily basis - it's terrific! :)

You are both so lucky buying new clothes!

I lost a stone but starting to get into my old clothes. it is such a nice feeling when we are starting to get skinny.

I'm not buying new ones bd, just getting rid of the ones that are too big now. I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I'm gradually slimming into.

I hopefully won't be buying much until I'm a 12/14, then I might just go nuts! :)

Hi bakersdozen. I won't be able to afford a new wardrobe either. Like moreless I have clothes too tight at the moment, but hopefully fit into them after another stone loss. I have given a couple of items to the charity shop that were bought at my biggest.

A good dressmaker!!! I wanted to lose weight for my sons wedding last year, managed the 10 lbs I was aiming for, felt so much better 😊 Such a lovely reason to lose weight 😊 I have carried on losing and am about half way through the 3-5 stone I want/need to lose 😊
