Managed to lose another 2.1/2 kb this week and got to colour in another little buzzard from my weight loss chart π Also, I got my first 1 stone award on Thursday at club so am very pleased.
On the not so good side, my leg pain has gotten worse, and I'm scheduled an MRI scan in 3 weeks time. Dr says the arthritis is in neck, hip and sacroiliac. I took ruth-canal-runners advice and told Dr I was not satisfied with just being given more pills and felt like I was getting the run around. He was very nice, and actually examined me!
So all in all a good and bad week, but I do feel I am making progress with the weight, and hopefully the new year will see progress with the pain.
Love to all my old forum friends, and hi to the new ones x π

How wonderful to have lost 2 1/2 lbs this week libby YEAH and to have achieved your first stone award. You achieved your goal this week and lost another buzzard and should be so proud of that Sorry to hear about the leg pain though and I hope that you get some good results from the scan. Onwards and downwards from here, your doing really well x
Congratulations on your great weight loss progress - you are doing amazingly well.
Glad to hear you took Ruth's advice and that your Dr examined you - your MRI scan will come round very soon, and hopefully that will help to pinpoint everything.
Thank you lowcal - I'm glad too , I really hope we can get somewhere now, I know there are others far worse off than me, and if its just progressing arthritis I have to live with it, but maybe I can get some good medication going π
Buzz off little buzzard. Yay a stone has gone with the birds.
There's no stopping you now Libby, at last you've hit upon what works for you. I couldn't be more pleased
I'm really sorry about the pain you're suffering, but hang on in there for another 3 weeks and then, hopefully, you'll be able to get a specific diagnosis and effective medication.
Hope so moreless. Keeping increasing current pills cant be good, especially when I keep reading about Nsaids being bad over long periods. I've been on mine 10 yrs and am definitely addicted to cocodamol. If I miss it I get shaky, disoriented and jittery. If they prescribe a different painkiller, ill have to back off slowly since I've been on them 10 yrs as well π Thanks for the encouragement !! X
I'm surprised your doctor's kept you on an addictive painkiller for so long and that would explain why your pain isn't being controlled! You will definitely need to wean yourself off them gradually, but will feel so much better without them eventually.
Thanks Kate, I think when I said the words "not satisfied" with my diagnosis, the Drs ears pricked up. Our doctors aren't much like the ones on GPs behind closed doors- that telly programme , I'm afraid. I was amazed to be examined...still, I got the referral at last ! X
