Hi! Day 1 for me too, just registered so hopefully my commitment will be stronger than in the past!
Think it will help having people to help on line
Welcome Anne an Jet...I am day 7 today....welcome...this place is home now...
Welcome! We are all here to help and encourage each other, I hope you have a defined plan?
A starting point, lots here use the 12 week, NHS plan and find it helpful.
I personally needed a plan when I lost most of my weight 3 years ago, I counted calories and sought inspiration, I recently lost of some regained weight, ( about 5 lbs) which happened with job changes.
Accept the journey is not going to be easy and more about how you relate to food in general, your emotional connection with it.
Hi,
Nearly at trend of my first week and starting to get used to it. I like reading the blogs and responding to them it's very encouraging . You can follow people and see how they are getting on, and no one judging you as we don't know who they are!
Have faith and keep blogging 😀
This forum really does help! Good luck and keep posting and replying.
It's too easy to comfort eat, and it's also a vicious circle. My weight is 21stone something, and it feels as if it's killing me. Depression is the other major issue for me! I need to stop beating myself up about things in my life that I can't change. I have decided to write my feelings down in a notebook and have a cup of tea or so, instead of immediately turning to food. I'm trying to work out what's going on in my head - and I've noticed that I react to what I'm hearing (ie feeling angry, upset, or despondent, etc). By putting pen to paper, I come back to my notepad a little time late, and often with some insight or awareness of a possible solution. Helps my chaotic thinking, especially when I am feeling desperate.
Being able to talk to someone who understands and can assist your thought processes is good - although it's not easy if you're feeling isolated or lonely.
Sometimes strangers are the best people to confide in - less worry in that you might never meet them again, but a little support from lots of different people can be beneficial (says 'she' who also needs it!)
Be kind to yourself - Anns together!! xx
Ann welcome to the site. You will find nothing but support and encouragement here. You have started a journey so keep moving forward.
